This is a fair review of the company based on 5 years as an employee.
It's a company from a small francophone ( french) town. Everybody knows each other by being either a relative or having went to school together ( so people have very strong opinions about each other, either good or bad... but they focus mostly on the bad). The langage of choice on working sites is french. Work hours are extremely long in some cases depending on the foreman you get , 12 hours + days ( I have done 14h and 16h with them on multiple occasions), that's usually without travelling, because you do a lot of that, and since you gonna be the new guy.. be ready to live out of your suite case because you will be travelling trough out Northeastern Ontario from Geralton to Cochrane on a whim because they have the bad habit of letting you know on Sunday nights where you are going the next day.( also, when out of town you stay in the cheapest hotels, most definitely bunked with another employee). They have their own way of doing jobs, so even if you had experience at another company and you think that is an asset starting your new job, well think again... and believe me when I tell you that they will let you know that it's worth nothing. Management has a bad habit of being extremely rough with the employees, lots of screaming ( certain foreman are worst than others, mind you that half of them are pretty good foreman, but the other half just lacks respect and have a general disdain towards labours and flag poeple, I have seen employees cry every year that I worked there). They have a very high volume of new employees every year ( because well frankly, most poeple that have a choice go for another job after one year at Villeneuve... mostly for the reasons above, but also that most jobs in Heasrt pay way better than them. ( exemple: Columbia Forest Products = labour 25$ hour year round,  Villeneuve=labour 18$ hour for 6 months( because that's about the amount of work they have for the year.) And be WARNED, they will say anything to get you to start there since they desperatelly need poeple, so they are known give out empty promises about salaries and futur advancement within the organisation only to change their minds later on.

Be prepared to have 10 different bosses that don't talk to each other. VERY fast paced environment, very little training on what they want from you (working in parts wise).
You'll be spread so thin and work such long hours you won't even be able to spend the money you make. 
I was picking up an operator at 3am, driving him 3 hours away, coming back to the shop, working my normal 6-5 shift (with no lucnhes ever) and then had to go pick him back up the same night after hours. 
The bosses don't talk to each other, one thinks your doing great while another thinks your not doing anything. Too many bosses, too little communication.

A typical day at work would be starting and tuning the crusher for best quality material at maximum productions, I have learnt that proper thorough inspections are very important.. Management was excellent and work was more of a hobby than work due to team environment. Hardest part of the job was working 10 on 4 off rotations, the most enjoyable part of the job would be customizing crusher to solves issues and seeing it work

Days are typically very long, especially in the summer. Depending on the contracts obtained for that year, jobs can be an hour or more from the nearest town, prolonging the typical day by a couple hours just for travel time. Management is okay. The culture was a bit more stressed than other places I have worked, and it benefits anyone who works there to speak french because the majority of management and employees are french.

If a person has the willingness to learn and work then Villeneuve is the place for you..they offer training on various peices of equipment with current training on these prices...Villeneuve is a Very safety oriented company and treats employees like friends...I would recommend Villeneuve Construction to anybody who wants to work in a safe environment on current machines with skilled fellow employees

The people are the best, if you get a good crew every day will be a good day.

Working fast, doing things the right way if you don't understand whats asked to do ask some questions to be able to do it right, the management was understandable and making sure you love your job, fun people to work with. I loved my experience.

good company to work for with excellent machines that are well kept in good working conditions would recommend anyone to work there.hardest part was long hours,management is ok the most enjoyable part of the job is the paycheck.
