If you have the personality for sales, and find you can speak to almost anyone easily, this kind of role is a great one to start in a commission structure. Customers are generally easy to work with, and the commission amounts were decent for the role and the location.
Upper management will make your work much harder than it needs to be, and routinely seem to undermine other employees. Management will always give an excuse for why raises are skipped, or bonuses are delayed, but will never accept an excuse from a rep when a target is missed. The work culture of VM Plus is very much "Bell's red-headed step child that they don't want to think about." This culture is even noted by outside vendors/contractors that interact with the sales reps. Targets are high and only go up, with management often rewarding the best workers with much more work until they burn out. 
Benefits are good, and vacation time is plenty, but all of it comes with an undertone of "we can take this away at any moment."

My time working with Virgin Plus (FKA Virgin Mobile) was almost entirely positive. It was a great team environment and everyone would help one another where they could, as far as you can when it comes to sales.

The hardest part of the job wasn't necessarily the job itself, but being in a kiosk-based environment, you have to be ready to always be "on" since your next sale can come from any angle and from the smallest interaction.

As long as you come with a motivated energy, you will do well in this environment and culture. This is NOT a job for those that want to "do the hours and collect a paycheque". It is a wage+commission job, so be prepared to put in some initiative to ensure you perform well!

All in all, it was a wonderful place to work and would absolutely recommend this position to anyone who loves tech and is looking to break into the world of Sales.

Good way to get started in marketing for a fun and entrepreneurial brand. Has the job security of working for BCE who owns Virgin Plus and also allows for room to migrate from Virgin Plus to BCE should you want to advancement. Good leadership at the top level, but there is ALOT of red tape and favoritism especially for the GLP program. You will see GLP (Graduate Leadership Program) co-horts get favoritism as well as more opportunities for advancement as the organization invests ALOT of money in to their success. That will be very frustrating as you see those grads (literally university grads) get presented with more opportunities to be successful.

Interview process was full of pre-made questions. The interviewers were very fun and enjoyable to be around. 

Even if you’ve never sold anything before, the job will train you to sell like a pro. The work culture was really nice, depending on your manager of course. They go out of their way to be sure that you’re satisfied with your job and that you can perform the best you can. 

It’s a fantastic place for students, since this was the only company that was able to accommodate for my hours will in college. The coworkers were also fantastic people. 

Currently working as Sales Associate and enjoy working here except that it’s a standing job but you can sit for sometime during the working hours. There’s always an urge to get more sales due to targets. The more your hours, the more your targets but you are not really working all your 8 hours shift. You will be working when you are attending customers or doing some administrative/ back office work which is not much and usually done by the manager. So even if you don’t have customers, you are paid hourly plus commissions on any sale. No doubt a better start for a career 

If job culture is important to you, this job is full of it. Everything from team meetings, to goal setting, to all the rah rah cheerleader stuff you could ever want. They have a great benefits plan and a way to get in on Bell shares. But if the idea of 'drinking the kool-aid' turned me right off. Their management style is very involved. I preferred to be given a job and then be left alone with the occasional review. Constant competitive number check ins left me not caring about my numbers. But again, this is a good job if you can get behind all the cheerleadering.

Super positive work environment. My manager is always encouraging me to do my best and is super motivating. The commission is so much better than previous places I’ve worked. 
They’re very understand of my schedule since I’m a student. 
There’s lots of opportunity to grow and make changes. My regional manager is a really great guy too, he’s super easy to talk to and genuinely seems to care about us. 
It’s a great location too, pretty frequent traffic and tons of extra incentives.

Dealing with stupidity from current generation of employees and stupid questions or argumentative customers

The one thing I can say is since you truly work for bell, the benefits are unbeatable, but that also comes with all the misery that is working for bell. You are undervalued, under paid, and over-criticized. You constantly have to “take accountability” for not meeting the outrageous targets and goals set by corporate management with none of the tools to succeed because it’s up to us to recoup the gap in their COVID bonuses with less business, higher prices, and supply shortages. Co-workers and manager were both toxic, they would not teach you on how to meet the sales target or be better at this job, but would blame you for not meeting the sales target. They always said i hvnt done enough, or i didnt work hard. Nobody taught me how to do the job, i learned how to use the system by myself, and they still said i didnt try. Plus their deals were never as attractive as Fido's, made it harder to talk people to sign up.
