Starting with what is good: You work from home.

The job overall isn't too bad, its everything else you're expected to deal with that makes the job difficult; especially with how they expect you to handle surveys. You don't get a choice to ask people to take the surveys. You're expected to push and push until they do the survey or hang up, which thankfully happens fairly often. You will be abused and yelled at despite the supervisors inclination that it doesn't happen often. 

Leading to my next point, the supervisors are awful. They do not care and serve only to power trip and use threatening language to discipline for insignificant things even when you're bringing in great numbers. There is no mentorship or training. One of the programs they use (Logit) will be complicated and they will not train you on it. 

They also abuse the "call monitoring" and will 100% listen to your personal and private conversations you're having at home. 

A small example of why I would steer anyone away from this position: We were expected to call Florida during the latest hurricane and that should give you an idea of how clueless and out of touch this company truly is. 

You sit at your desk. You set up with computer and calls, normally there is some sort of technical error. You attempt to make a quota of completed surveys per hour, usually almost impossible, I was often in the middle of the pack with only one or two people making quota. You may take five-minute bathroom breaks if you work more than 5 hours you will get an unpaid 30-minute lunch break, sometimes I didn't take my lunch break since I was attempting to make quota. People are generally nice since it's mostly either those who can't get work elsewhere, like those with disabilities, or older people, or those who really need a job such as high school and university students (especially international students.) It is almost impossible to get any sort of sick leave, you have to get someone to cover, and it doesn't matter if you have a doctor's note it will be unpaid. Minimum wage, when the minimum wage went up to 15.40 they stopped paying floor staff bonuses for extra hours (I was making more before the minimum wage went up).

This place shouldn't be allowed on here, vision gets its contracts from F grade "businesses" that the better business bureau rarely recognizes as businesses, this place is somewhere between a con, and a form of treason, owner has no idea what labour laws exist and believes anything can be "taken away" to PUNISH STAFF, including paid breaks and the WASHROOM, rarely meets minimum hour requirements, a generally manipulative unpleasant man to work for who has little to no concern if his business model traps employees below livable wages, its not even close, this place is a quick way to depression and a general loss of faith in man.

Great job which I loved but very unstable to stable hours fluctuating. A person would have to continue to call a shift update line and hours promised could be reduced to a minimal of three for example. Management didn't do a great job of hiring efficient staff for the job which has made the position of making the call center a somewhat unsuitable workplace.

The work environment is toxic, causes you unnecessary stress. They short 
/ cut your pay even though you worked the time. Shifts are not reliable, and can be cancelled at any moment. There is a particular supervisor that makes your shift a living nightmare. The place is dirty and poorly kept.⁵

It’s easy work physically but very mentally draining, management barely gives any breaks if any at all. Hours are very unreliable and shifts will be changed/cancelled last minute. 

Best thing about working here is the day you quit. 

Hours are very inconsistent but also pretty flexible if just a side gig. Some of the surveys can be very lengthy, with questions that are multiple paragraphs long. Easy enough job if you're a good reader and good at talking to people.

You know those people that call you during dinner and ask if your happy with your cable service provider? 
Well that is what you do at vision research.

This job can be tough, You get people on the phone that are not happy about your call, But there are some people that are happy to talk to you and give you the information your asking for.
