I started to work at Visique with degrees and many options in my career. At the beggining, they told me I would get many career opportunities... Later on, after a year without a raise, they told me it's will automatically increase in March but since I started to work in the fall, 6 months extra to wait, so 18 months ( can be up to 2 years). Considering the inflation which was about 10-15% while I was there, they only give about 3% raise per year and it's fixed unless you move to another department or a better position. My only advice would be to start negociating with good conditions or you will end up with the company high turnover.

It’s managed by young unlicensed people that don’t know what they’re doing. They pick favorites and don’t even give you the job that you were HIRED for. You’re always cleaning up messes because people aren’t bothered to do their job properly. The only nice thing about this is the optometrists. They’re nice and if you wanna learn about anything in that field they’ll teach you. 

Just like every other big corpo, more concerned with quarterly profits than long term growth, middle management that is out of touch with reality and implements solutions to problems that do not exist while ignoring actual bottlenecks. Not a good long term opportunity. Look elsewhere if you are anything other than a student or fresh off the boat.

Within my clinic, we are like a family and we all get along great and respect one another.  I look forward to coming into work.  It feels like a disconnect between  the "optical associate" job title and upper management.  The pay is not great considering we are in the medical field.

The job itself is very rewarding, there is so much you can learn and there is opportunity to advance, but the standards that are held by management is very over bearing, very unwilling to accommodate any personal problems you may have.
