 Large turnover and never know who is in charge. 

Had some issues with staffing and was left to work over my 12 hr shifts (sometimes 13 to 15 hour shifts) because my replacement quit or didn’t show up and would have to show up to my next day of work with little to no sleep. If you have an emergency and need to leave work …. There is a strong chance you will not be able to leave due to no staff to cover you. 

Many issues that still need to be worked out at this company. Very unorganized and is in need of proper management. 

No room to grow in the company (was told by my manager) 

Positive: 

They try to recognize good work if something happens. But they come down hard on you if they get any complaints, even if it isn’t true or not your fault. 



Typical shifts consist of 4-5 hours. The company works very well in conjunction with Fedex to train their screeners and further tests them everyday through the use of a TIP program. As a screener we are assigned to teams of 3. The hardest part of the job is identifying potentially dangerous materials, however if left unsure the operator is able to question his/her peers and/or supervisor on the issue. Overall the job is satisfying and Vista Securiy is very well managed and helpful towards it's employees.

At the time I worked with them (December 2005) the security license was different and issued by each particular security agency.  There was no proper training, the first day on the job is attending a particular shift with someone who's already on that shift, like an on-the-job training.  They start the applicant as part time, and yet expect the applicant to be available on call anytime, which is practically impossible if the applicant has another ft job.  Overall best to avoid this security agency as there are better security agencies out there.

This site requires you to walk down and patrol 40+ floors every hour on top of the 3 parking levels, and the 1st - 3rd floors. 

The “security office” is located in a small fire panel room. It gets really hot and they don’t provide you with a fan or water.

I would ask management for supplies for the guards but kept getting the run-around.

I wouldn’t recommend working with vista security. This company is extremely mismanaged and incompetent.

I am working from last four month with vista security and investigation. I promoted from security guard to supervisor. At any situation when you need then call and contact quickly. The good thing is they are available for you 24/7. Company paid fairly to their employees. Their is no pressure at work time. They co-operate and adjust your shift timings if you want. Overall its a best company to work with.

This company does not care about their employees what so ever.  Expect minimum wage, rude staff & managers & they expect you to work yourself to the bone.  Loyalty means nothing to them, they will turn their backs on you in a heart beat when you have an issue. How they resolve your issue us taking you off the schedule to annoy you until you quit or they say "well we can fire you, if you prefer". I do not recommend working for this company. 

The Webster's definition of dishonest. Lower staff is treated poorly bc this company hires mainly newcomers. Books and files are outdated and disorganized which leads to an office or errors. Location is filthy with bugs everywhere as majority of the office staff doesn't clean up after themselves while a cleaner is only in once every two weeks-if that.

The owners of the company are extremely nice and fair and will treat you with respect even if you make a mistake the odd time. 
Overall I had a great experience and it was a perfect position for a student. Would recommend to anyone.

Excellent experience with my given background. No room for advancement, or change at all. Pay was decent but otherwise is pretty stagnant and gets redundant

A typical day consisted of patrolling the property and filling out security reports. I learned how to maintain awareness and trust my gut. The workplace culture was enjoyable and good coworkers made it easier.
