Wärtsilä is a fantastic company and you will find yourself working alongside great people who truly embody the ethics and values of this almost 200-year old company.

If you are willing to relocate, opportunity abounds and you will be given chances to advance and evolve into new roles. However, if you work outside of Finland or some of the other larger officer centers, it can be difficult to find advancement opportunity. 

One ongoing challenge was the time zone difficulty in managing meeting coordinate with differences up to 10 hours back to senior management and 14 hours across our team. This can be stressful to stay in the loop of what is going on while respecting the boundaries with your family.

Overall I would recommend Wärtsilä as an employer, I would just encourage people to go in with eyes open and realize that there are both big positives but also challenges.

Its a good place to work and I am very grateful for the management for the great opportunity given to me. There is unity among the management staff and the other worker,
The new C.M and operation manager in the Ewekoro plant are very understanding in my opinion.



The working environment in Wartsila Ship Design is very good, the colleagues are very happy and friendly.

Great work place, plenty of opportunity for continuous education and learning.

 Exposure to a lot of different vessel repairs. Management was very poor, too much favouritism was shown on a regular basis. Safe place to work. hardest part was understanding internal politics. Great pay and great rewards .

Work should be something you look forward to, enjoy and learn. Wartsila has a very good work life balance and it gives importance to its employees. The management has an open door policy and most importantly I enjoy what I do as it allows me to interact with everyone in the organization.

I got along good with my immediate Team Leader. Learned new tricks of the trade. People are good, machinists are well experienced. Engine workshop also have good people.

Overall good responsibilities & work culture very nice, freedom of work & following all guideline, Love to work in this organization, 
People performing & supporting each other to achieve the company goal

Was not treated very fairly and was let go early to no fault of my own. I would not recommend wartsila to anyone looking to progress and advance as I was not given the opportunity myself.

More interested in the annual sales figures  rather than the customer.
