This experience with Waterloo Regional Police Service taught me to grow a thicker skin and to be more selective of whom I trusted not to mention that if you were lazy and not loyal to the service you received more recognition and more advancement opportunities than when you did your job and did it very, very well. Evaluations are a joke and never get you anywhere. 

Best advice? Don't apply - work in the private sector not the public! Just saying.

I brought to managements attention that internal investigations were being conducted unethically. As a result of me reporting it, I was disciplined and constructively dismissed.  To much autonomy for authority at WRPS. The truth is coming out in the class action. Things will have to change.

This service does not care about employees injured on the job. They will manipulate and lie to cover up their irresponsible behaviour. I have a lot of respect for police in general but none whatsoever for those in management. I previously worked as a supervisor in a call centre and if I treated my employees the way I was treated I would have been fired.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Certified as fools by their Lord.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Not delivering a decisive blow.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
They have demon faces, which says enough.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Antagonizing and bruising egos.
Inspiring internal rage.

the children were great and very fun and easy to work with and teach 
the management of the safety village was very awesome lenient and understanding
and the co-workers that we worked with were very very nice and made the job very enjoyable
the job wasn't too demanding as long as you understand how to teach in a classroom setting

I was so excited to become a constable with WRPS, however I was very disappointed to discover that the service is not what it once was.... management doesn't seem to support their staff and you can be left to feel very alone and struggling. WRPS has a long way to go to become the great service it once was. 

Waterloo Regional Police service was an awesome 30 year career.  I had no regrets for my chosen profession.  I was very proud to be a police officer. 

See previous review. Terrible upper management, lack of support for members, no morale, no guarantee of promotion/advancement or courses. Frustrating to see others golf with a manager and get advanced without true skills.

I worked there...then I didn't anymore because I was just a number.............,....................................................................... I was raised to follow the golden rule....the peeps here do have a polar opposite philosophy about their own respective morals.

Waterloo Regional Police Service was a great place to work other than the terrible shift schedule.  I met a lot of amazing officers and gained an incredible amount of experience.
