WE had a great community of diverse employees which were for the most part excellent peers to surround yourself with. There were many opportunities to grow and develop new skills as well. However, we were constantly at the whims of the founders and executives who would make decisions that felt disconnected at different levels of the organization.

Even for a non-profit company, employees are severely underpaid. My advice to those entering the company is to negotiate your salary from the start, because opportunities for increases are very rare.

There are a ton of fun events, perks, and travel opportunities so definitely take advantage. Most departments are open to new ideas as management doesn't always have a lot of experience.

I loved working there for the better part of a decade. The pace is fast, which is both good and bad. It's good that the company is responsive, and pivots quickly. It's bad that not everything is well thought out. It's a great place for an ambitious person to be given responsibilities and the green light to pursue good ideas. But a horrible place for an ambitious person who wants to receive a fair compensation.

Low pay in the name of charity. No work life balance, heads treat you the worst and no respect. You are burned out every week. Everybody wants to look best in front of co founders. If you are junior? You are blamed the most. Search something else lies are everywhere and even in their charity and business model. 

Due to the nature of social enterprises, money was always tight. When I began there were more staff events, beer/wine Fridays, work trips and opportunities to travel. As time went on these almost all stopped. Roles frequently changed or were merged and pay did not reflect position or responsibilities. Great employees keep the ship running and fun to be around.

This will be the hardest and most rewarding experience in your career. Helping women and children globally with the impacts of colonialism lingering in their lives is one of the most powerful and highest level order of actions you can do period.  You make friends with the wisest people and see the most beautiful impacts.

Good enough for new graduates, but don't stay long there as you won't learn much. Everything is semi professional, you won't learn much. The pay is a joke which I find just disrespectful. Salary gap between men and women 
  can be huge (like 35K vs 60 K) Also the salaries are much higher for friends of top management.
Most people are very nice, office space is great, workplaces very ergonomic.

Working here brings smile, its a great environment. This place wants have you coming back. You learn so much about team work. The space is safe environment. Trustworthy people that come together to make a daily difference. its is not a 9-5 type of job but the time spent here fly's. You meet great people who bring life long friendships

Over the years working at WE I had no direction of where I was going, and I realized very quick that there was no more moving up for me. at some point I very stagnant and was depressed.
