Each day is different. But each one starts with a big strong cup of coffee; my definite addiction! Off I drive, the streets of Toronto; anything can happen at any time, it's a true adventure and some times slightly terror-ridden. Watch out for that taxi! Oh gosh the j-walker to the left! Is that a street car at a sudden dead stop up ahead?! The pigeon! My windshield...    
Visiting various clients, I reflect on the dicotomy of homes I walk into. Some are straight out of posh decorating magazines, while others are more minimalist and even neglected of the basic necessities. It makes me realize we're all basically the same, regardless of our material accomplishments or status in the world. We all need health, be it physical, mental, or spiritual. We need to be nourished, acknowledged, made to feel like we belong.
This job makes me thankful for what I have. It gives me humility. And it makes me think about my own mortality.
I love meeting different people every day. And when I feel I've actually touched someone's life, made a difference, it gives me incredible satisfaction. Life is short, and you only get one shot at it. I'd rather find the humour, enjoy a belly laugh, than focus on the negatives and injuistices that exist in this non-perfect world.
I'm very thankful to have  arrived at where I am now, and I wish to continue to grow and try to make positive change, no matter how great or how small. The hardest part of the job is knowing there's never enough hours in the day, you always feel like there's more you want to do. I've come to realize as long as I am doing the best I can possibly do then that is what I must accept and feel some satisfaction in knowing. 
Onwards and upwards! Never give up.

I did enjoy working for We Care, but what was the best of all was the clients.. I had great client that showed respect, loyalty, and sweetness..
We are going into someone home and their 50/50 chance they do not want us there! So we need to make sure that the client is comfortable with me and respect their 
Responsible for the total care & well-being for the client(s) in their own home. 
Prepared meals while maintaining proper dieting and kitchen sanitation procedures for the client, myself and for the next shift starts. 
Distributed mediation on a regular basis and marking our routine flow sheets, also if there was an issue that day or the client refused or wanted something brought in or taken out of the home. 
Bathing is a must every second day unless told otherwise & housekeeping, change bedding, garbages, dusting, laundry, etc. 
Prepared meals while maintaining proper kitchen sanitation procedures

It was such a great privilege to work in the company for almost two years.The management was good,the staffs were very approachable and clients were friendly and manageable.

In 2 years time that I'm with them,I usually start work at 8a.m.either in the senior's lodge or in the residences in the South areas of the city.I find my job enjoyable and interesting for I met different clients and once I used to them,they will appreciate my effort and time spent with them.When I started in that company,I really find it challenging for I was not driving and I have to travel from a place to another plus the light housekeeping job(which is heavy actually-clients expectations to be met) that I don't really like.It was my training ground as a starter in the company to become more reliant,patient,hardworking and dependable for whatever task or obligations based on my client needs.

Going in to elderly homes and assisting with their daily activities such as feeding, bathing, dressing or just chatting about life in general.
There are so many things to learn about with working with the elderly as there life growing up, about you as a person. Most of all learning about the different nationalities and there lives growing up and stories.
Management there ok but it was sad when we deal with cancer patients all the time but when it came down to my mom having cancer it was a different story not all positive but its a growth experience.
The hardest part of the job seeing your client very sick or off in the ambulance to the hospital but toughest part sometime watching them pass away.
The most enjoyable part of the job is chatting with my clients I loved them all and everyday was different that was cool thing.

A typical day at work is always interesting working with Dementia clients you are never able to be prepared for what they will or will not do to you. It's very rewarding to me when they hold my hands and kiss them telling me thank you and when we just sit and talk for a bit    and they smile it warms my heart knowing that I am the one who allows them to feel that joy, My co-workers are awesome and they are the best. My first day working I was not as sure what to do but they helped me every step that I took they were there to help me. The most difficult part of my job is when a client of mine is not happy in the morning so AM care is hard for me to do, what i would do is just leave them for 20 min and then come back, when I do they are actually fine.

After being in Nursing for the last 18 years - consecutively----it's rewarding to be in this new role as  client care supervisor ----to guide / mentor nurses at lower knowledge levels than myself. 

It's  rewarding to be a part of the higher levels of decisions made in regards to safe competent care for our clients . 

The most challenging part of my job ----would have to be  constantly having to remind staff of company policies----as our staff now are not the best at  compliance. It's  a challenge , but nothing serious.

WeCare was one of the best places I have worked,the management was great you couldn’t ask for better,my coworkers where great we where like family,once a month we did breakfast for lunch if management could make it they would come it put smiles on the faces of the residents,in the summer we would have yard sales residents were in there helping with everything .When you work for a company that cares it makes everyone’s job a little better.

-Telephones are always ringing.
- I learned that clients comes first.
- Management adding a lot of responsibility to previous job          description
- Co-workers are very outgoing
- Finding replacement workers after last minute book offs.
- Clients/Family calling in and thanking us for the service we provide

I work only Mondays and Wednesdays. I learned to be extra patience and respectful  to clients. my supervisors is always available for communications.
The hardest part is dealing with difficult family. And also clients who are not willing to perform their therapy.
The most enjoyable part is when client begin to get better physically.

Management doesn't care about what's really happening on the floor. HR doesn't provide answers to their staff and doesn't pick up their phones. Unfair treatment if you are not manager's favorite. Very high turnover of employees because they are not being treated right.
