I would like to be very honest here. This place has major potential to be a contender in the fields of heavy equipment for the mining and logging industries. It is the lowest paying for this type of work in the Edmonton area. I did enjoy the people I worked with here and there is many talented individuals on the floor with a wealth of knowledge.
Management needs a sweep or they need to begin to hold themselves accountable to what they say. There is major double standards when it comes to quality control which created a very toxic work environment. Certain individuals and 15+ year employees could get away with almost anything, yet others have been disciplined over the same quality of work. I watched welds get laid down on this job that would have had welders get fired if this were any other place. Especially on their big money items like their D11 CAT dozer blades. I felt embarrassed to work here with product like that leaving the shop. I was irritated frequently with how Quality Control would be all over people over the smallest defects and weld faults, yet the 15 year+ guy in the next bay could leave porosity and stray grind marks on everything repeatedly and still maintain employment. On top of that, management gets angry when you don't fix other "Journeyman" work.
I felt like any suggestions shared to improve the place were gone unheard. Safety supplies would be lacking for months at a time. It took months to have management create a solution  to stop paint fumes from entering the welding bays. Management promised frequent overtime when I was initially hired because they apparently have a huge backlog of products to produce, but its overtime became almost non-existent.
I have moved on because the future of this place does not look great from where it stands today. With procedures not being followed properly for liner packages, base edges and more, my educated guess is that return customers will be few and warranty work will be plenty. There is much room to improve and growth wont happen until the older crowd retires and/or management sticks to their word. It gets tiring when they preach about accountability and quality in a 2 hour meeting yet won't hold themselves to what they say.

almost every person here is kind and helpful. the management at this location are fair and personable and the culture this company posses is rare. the pay is fair, the benefits are standard for the industry and their pension plan is 3% matched after 1 year of employment. Moreover if you push for it, you are able to grow and learn here.

sadly corporate, more specifically the HQ in Alberta, will treat everyone like a number, no matter what you've done for the company or how long you've been there for. you get this sense of being valued and heard at the Langley location. yet the corporate at HQ strips all of that from you and acts like they know best. thing is, the Langley location is the most efficient in comparison to the HQ in Alberta, when it comes to the total amount of employee's and sq. footage. they also have lied and twisted words in the past to make it seem as though they're doing us favors but actually taking away benefits of the job. They also tried to illegally fire people when a union was mentioned. 

it was so odd to work for a company that both treated you like a valued individual with a voice, but to also then treat you like a number with nothing else attached but your title. 

overall, I still recommend the company, however remember, the corporate at HQ have the final say on most decisions and my lord do they have an Ego problem. 

Great culture! Everyone works together and looks out for one another. Management is pretty good about listening and taking action when it is needed. Working 4-10h shifts is the best, I love having three day weekends. Employees often will work OT on the 5th day and 4-10's allows them to still have two days off to rest and recharge. Pension is decent. I feel like what I bring to the table is appreciated, something I haven't experienced from an employer in a very long time. Many employees have worked here for around 20 years or more, that says a lot about a company. Weldco likes to provide opportunities for advancing/trying something new to those who show they are ready for a new challenge. I definitely recommend working at Weldco.

Weldco has a great job opportunity to thosein search of a metal production position; and they're equipped with friendly, helpful staff and management that takes good care of their employees. The safety measures are impressive in the workplace.
Coworkers that are also fairly new can be especially helpful although regular staff can be annoying with the "I've been here longer than you have, so I know it all" attitudes.
Other than regular coworker annoyances aside, Weldco is home.

A lot of backstabbers snakes. Can’t trust anyone there a lot of ears and the walls also. Poor pay rate. Only way to get a head is by management’s and ratting on people. More white hats than employees that don’t know there head from there  If u like this then this is a place for u. If ur family ur good cause u can stand around talk all day and no one will say anything to them. But if certain people ask for help they see this get ready to get the evil look or in trouble.

havent been here that long but i like the job so far. basic entry level general labour in the shop. the people are pretty chill but the work is fast paced. lots of people ive met here have been here for many years so i think this is somewhere i could move up and stay at. i applied from indeed and it took a little while to go from interview to start date but not bad

this is one of the friendlier manufacturing environments I've been in, there isn't tension between people on the shop floor or in the office and everyone gets along well. Its nice being somewhere where you don't have to walk on eggshells around people. Another noticeable difference is the level safety is taken to, they are very serious about safety here.  

Just about the worst place you could possibly work as a welder. Management expects the impossible and blame the workers if something does not go right even though in most cases they were told it was not going to work. There is no security here no matter how good you are. If you speak up about anything at all they will fire you without question. Great crews but just terrible leadership.

Pay is good considering the work is fairly easy. And management is very easy going, and don't harass you and are very accommodating of your personal life. Some cons I'd say that the welding shop is horrendously dirty at all times and the shop ventilation is very poor, keep you respirator on. Also you can end up in cycles of doing the exact same job day in and out because you're good at it, which gets frustrating.
