The work can be a little bit repetitive after a while as a page. Different branches offer different responsibilities. At the old central branch pages were expected to handle returns (getting them from bins and giving them to the librarians), as well as placing holds in the right bins. The main job is putting books back where they come from on the shelves. You are also expected to clear any loose books and mark them as used. Making sure shelves are in order by dewey decimal is key. You may work in pairs or on your own.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Great leadership who recognize that people have lives outside of work. Very flexible when time off is needed. Continually seeking and listening to concerns of the employees 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Finding parking at some branches, especially the Central Library. Bring downtown with a college across the street makes parking somewhat difficult

-Spent time helping out children,
-interacting with the children was one of the main parts required
-Would help read books, or teach the kids how to play chess
-Help with the service of children, interacting with other co-workers
-interacting with parents after helped with feedback

I have not had a bad experience to this point in terms of person to person interaction. It is a fairly laid back job. The scheduling and direction of the workplace is a little bit scattered. Hours are few and far between as a supply.

Working at wpl was great.  The atmosphere is nice and coworkers were always willing to help if any problems came up or i was really swamped.  I worked supply and got quite a few shifts.  However i never was hired on full time which is the only downside of working there.

Typical occupations include helping kids read books and organizing events for kids. The library has a very fun and caring environment. The events that are organized are thought through very carefully to make sure that kids and families who participate are content.

The job can get boring at times since it's a repetitive and monotonous job. However, the coworkers are great and friendly. The amount that you have to do for the job varies from location to location, with some libraries being busier than others.

Easy days.  I learned how to stock books and DVD's in their places of shelves. My co-workers were my age, so easy going and fun to work with.  Hardest part of the job was incorrect labeling, having to find the right one.  Enjoyable was the easy work and easy hours. 

The co-workers at the Windsor Public library are very easy to get along with and communicate with. They care about your success. The most enjoyable part of the job is knowing that you help people with their success and interests.
