A typical day at work is busy but filled with constant gossip, mostly because someone seems to be handing in their resignation almost every other week. The actual work itself is manageable; however, some of the desks are extremely overwhelming. HR hires anyone who can fill a spot, so the environment quickly becomes chaotic. Management is completely useless, offering no real guidance or support. The workplace culture is toxic, with no sense of teamwork or willingness to help when support is needed; everyone is left to struggle alone. The hardest part of the job is dealing with the lack of support from the Operations Manager. There’s honestly nothing enjoyable about the experience; the atmosphere is stressful from start to finish.

The hours are great, always off at 4:30. We get very long lunches as well as two breaks which is something I’ve never had at any other job. The starting pay is also better than other jobs I’ve had previously that were more stressful and demanding. They take into account cost of living increases every year as well, which is a huge bonus. Super important thing is management is very understanding and actually treat you like a person who is allowed to have a life outside of work. You can actually talk to them and not feel like an inconvenience. Overall my experience so far has been great. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Nothing really, keeping busy? There isn't much I can say in regards to positive aspects of the clinic, especially with my position.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
DA's talk down to you, Dr's talk down to you, there is no real understanding of employees needs.
HR is absolutely atrocious. 
They will keep you on for almost your full 3 month probation period, but if you put one toe out of line they will fire you with no notice. 
They could care less about their employees well-being.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Terrible.
Barely any human interaction in my position that isn't negative or anxiety filled.

The clinic has gone downhill. Poor management/administration means it’s a horrible/toxic environment. Management/administration are under qualified for their positions. They don’t have a clue what’s going on. We are underpaid and overworked. For such a busy clinic with so many doctors, they need to start paying their NON management/administrative staff a living wage. Receptionists and doctors assistants are what keep the clinic going, yet we are the least paid. They don’t provide any real training so you are basically thrown to the wolves and hope you survive. 

My short time at the Winnipeg Clinic has been my best work experience. The culture within the Clinic is inclusive, diverse, and collaborative. I thoroughly enjoy coming to work in the mornings. Management not only accepts their staff’s ideas but also encourages demonstrating new processes for continuous improvements. Aside from the amazing work culture and tremendous management, compensation at the Clinic is significantly superior then my previous places of employment.  100/10 recommend working for the Winnipeg Clinic. 

It’s not surprising that a clinic that has been operating since 1938 knows what they are doing. They are organized, positive and genuine team players.
Great physicians and fantastic, hardworking staff that welcome staff and patients alike. 
I’ve been in the medical field a long time and I feel here I have found my place to retire as so many others have/will. People start here and they do not leave until retirement and that speaks volumes. 

Management is the worst I’ve ever worked for, they are gossipy and in cliques. they do rounds once a day in the morning then you’re left to your own devices, depending on which floor you’re working on you’re either sitting there on your phone or drowning in patients that have been waiting 3+ hours for their appointments and you get screamed at.

I am content with my years at the Winnipeg Clinic. I work for a great physician, I float in diff specialties to provide assist when I’m able. I value the opportunity and experiences I have had with the clinic and have only developed as a better MOA and person. I go over and beyond to assist my doctor to provide excellent patient care.

Money, money, money,  money......MONEY !!!! Always remember management here loooves money!!!!! They don't care about their staff and if you're  a patient there, they care even less about you. It is NOT a place for employees who have any heart about their profession.  If you need a job and the local burger joint's not hiring, than this place is ok.

I used to work at HSC so working here is a breath of fresh air.  I work in an area where I can be fairly independent, so it's great for an introverted person like me.  The administrative team has been helpful in my transition into the role.  I just wish parking was compensated for some way, even a portion of it.
