A typical day and work would be working with my individual clients in the morning then heading oner to the group home after. I cleaned, cooked, and demonstrated many different life skills to the residents.

I learned so much with this job, your clients become more then just work you end up caring for them

Hardst part of job when one of the clients would have a breakdown in public, however handled properly and it was fine

Most enjoyable part of the job was seeing the clients truly happy from something i have helped them do.

The best part of working at WJS, was not working at WJS.

Lack of support from Management. They pretend to care. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
There is no culture. Basically corporate mentality. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Eat, bathroom breaks, meds, sleep. That's your day. Exciting right? Making a difference in this world, way to go.

Since l started working at this organization ,my life has changed for better and l felt am no more in an institution compared to where l used to work before. So far l am loving it since the day, l was asked to complete a written test.
They treat everyone equally, no discrimination or favoritism.
Strength in people.... 

I will start by reading the girls individual schedule for the day. I will work out the plan for time management. I usually drive one of their friends and ask their parents to give a ride home while i have to work the s schedule for the other two. I enjoyed driving so it was fun for me. The hardest part is when I hit the traffic and catching their time.

Management throw you under the bus any chance they got. If they messed up on something they were quick to point the finger at the employee's. when an employee would mess up they wouldn't talk to the staff to try and correct it instead they would just hold it against them then take the chance to fire them. seen it happen a few times

I absolutely love WJS and believe that it is one of the better human services to work for. Supervisors are kind, helpful, thoughtful, and genuine. I have always felt safe and like I could ask questions without judgement. 
It felt like a family environment with great team work. 
Would recommend working here.

I was was employed for 16 years and was payed of due to shortage of work. I had worked my was up to be a team leader. I enjoyed this job because i helped individuals have the best quality of life. I supported I did personal care home maintenance within their homes and taking them in the community.

A typical day would be taking clients out for a drive or go to Abbotsford for Church activities or coffee with their friends. The hardest part of the job would be keeping clients entertained and active for the entire shift as  they are high functioning and lose interest very fast.
