I began my career with drugstore.com as an inbound customer care representative. Received incoming calls from customers wanting to place an order, check on an order, requested instructions to return orders, track orders, take payments, provide refunds and complimentary rewards and credits. I eventually worked from home as email support. Doing the same as before, but only by email. 

Eventually, Walgreens bought drugstore.com. My role at home changed taking calls when the center went into queue. Down the road I was directed to work on emails and take calls. drugstore.com was shut down. I was transferred to our Vision Direct store. Still at home responding to emails and taking calls. Shortly after, February 2017, our entire office became redundant and closed. 

Under the management of drugstore.com, employees were viewed as members of the entire team. Upper management and office level management took great care in working with Customer Facing Employees. They were greatly missed when it was bought out. 

Hardest part of the job was remaining objective. I worked hard at not letting the experience get to me personally. 

Best part of the job was not only the team spirit, but being able to provide the best support experience to the customer every day.

Walgreen's Pharmacy is a place where I can tell very comfortable to be with. Being there and actually act like one of them is tough and challenging. A typical day at work is when you deal with patients all the time. I learn for being in their was be more comfortable at work. Be an open minded person. Always positive and have a high respect to the people around you. When it comes to patients, the most I learned by being there was to be nice with them. Give them a nice treatment as possible. The management is what I say very awesome. They work together as a team. If theirs a problem in one situation they were there to hand on and helped you out. In terms of the co-workers, I have no any guts towards them. They all kind, nice and helpful. They helped me if I need something or I have something that I do not actually get it. The hardest part of the job is especially dealing with patients and how you handle them. As a pharmacy technician student and getting my experience that the tough part of working there. However, the most enjoyable part of the job was your there and helping patients and giving them what they need is the most enjoyable part of the job. Even though your kinda nervous to deal with patients and to interact at them, when you help them and you try your best to help them was the most enjoyable part of the work experience.

I loved working for Walgreens. The people, the customers, the opportunity to work with employees from all backgrounds including upper management. Working with those in upper management that wanted the entrepreneurship in me to grow with the company.
I loved having my own district and the opportunity to build it to a powerful and profit producing part of a great company while maintaining positive feedback from my managers and staff in support of what the company was asking us to do.
Work/home balance was important to me as well as those in upper management. When something needed to be done with work it was expected that I be there and understood, when things happened at home I was expected to be there too.
Customers were the most fun part of the job. To interact with them on a daily basis with complaints and solutions to just helping them while doing store supervision was the key to developing strong sales and customer service in the managers of the stores and the employees that interact with them on a daily basis.

The company doesn't dedicate hours to train new pharmacy technician. The pharmacy team are so slammed by work that they don't have neither the time or the patience to explain things out. Managers are nice but they get angry when you call for assistance to help during rush times. You get paid $13.5/hr which is way less than the stress and the work. The schedule is unpredictable, Senior technician supposedly does 3 weeks in advance but of course due to the miserable working condition she never able to accomplish that, so sometimes you don't even know what day or what time you're working next week. I didn't like it overall and I don't recommend working there.

Encountered bad managers in some branches.

Good co-workers & good rapport with them.
Team work spirit is great.

Hardest part of the job - having to put up with rude, mean & unreasonable management people.  Had to stretch my patience to the breaking point.

Stocking up newly-arrived items on selves; 
Maintaining clean & orderly selves; 
Learning ideas from people in all walks of life. 
Learning to listen well, in order to help customers' needs.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The location was close to home and the work hours were manageable.  However, it was complete chaos with disjointed leadership.  Training was very poor.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Lack of interest in accepting the problems and finding ways to correct them.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Stressful and judging.  Very little team-work.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful and wondering what negative comment will be coming next.

Typical day at work includes same duties and preparation for the day. Many customers are repeat customers which helps with the friendly family- like environment. Management is very friendly and helpful, however the hardest part of the job would be the ability to advance. Job security is ok, but hours fluctuate even for "full- time" employees. The most enjoyable part of the job is the friendly family- like atmosphere and helping customers that you have gotten to know over time.

My manager was outstanding, great benefits stock purchase health insurance.
When my wife was pregnant my manager was very flexible with my schedule.
I did learn about photo processing and perform maintenance for our photo lab equipment. I saw photos from all over the world. 

In the pharmacy was very interesting to learn how to fill out prescriptions you have to be accurate with time, people is trying to get the drugs ASAP For themselves or a sick family member.

I have learned how to handle rude customer.
The most enjoyable part of the job is when I have pleased a loyal customer. 
The average work day consist of basic duties such as: filling empty product spots, assisting customers in item searches, maintain a clean work environment and answering phone calls.

I worked 7 nights on, 7 nights off, 10 hour nights. Cashier, photo, assigment list cleaning, assigned stocking, unload and stock truck day after working all night, assignment stock unloaded truck. Face and organize assigned isles for customers. Customer service for problem/issues
