The job has a lot of training that is necessary before you start your position, and the training is all the support you get once you get into the job. There is very little follow up post the training once you start. Overall the management is not really supportive of staff, it really is mostly a pyramid job where we do all the work, while the management gets all the cash - you are paid minimum wage, expected to spend extra time without being reimbursed, have to drive across the area for the job, and extremely varying hours. You are also required to purchase their uniform and no refund is offered at termination (know your rights, you DO NOT have to give them back the uniform since you have paid for it and will not receive a refund, and the clause in the worker book would not be legally binding). They have stellar reviews, but because the caregivers are amazing people, not because of who is overseeing the company. They are always hiring because they have low retention of caregivers. Very unfortunate because the job is very rewarding. Overall, this is a vital requirement for our healthcare system and for elder care, but management needs and overhaul.

A Typical Day at Work:
A typical day involves providing personal care, assisting with daily activities, and offering emotional support to clients, all within a structured yet flexible schedule.

My typical day at work begins as soon as I arrive at my client’s location. I start by meeting with the individual, ensuring they receive proper incontinence care, and making sure they are comfortable and happy before I leave.
This job has taught me to be more outspoken and confident in my communication. The management is supportive and ensures I have everything I need to perform my duties effectively.
One of the most challenging aspects of the job was losing two of my clients. Although dealing with loss is not uncommon in this line of work, it still affected me deeply.
The most enjoyable pary of my job is meeting new people, connecting with their families, and hearing their stories and experiences. I used to think I was patient, but this job has taught me to develop an even greater level of patience—if there’s such a thing as "extremely patient."



Working for Warm Embrace has been an incredibly fulfilling experience! It really feels like the work I do matters. I especially like that I can work independently, travel to different locations, and choose hours that mesh well with my schedule. Despite working independently, management consistently shows that they care about their employees and does their best to accommodate personal needs and compensate their hardwork fairly. Additionally, they fully prepare you for the job by providing ongoing training and matching you with compatible clients that you see on a regular basis. 
Only drawback is that hours can be long/irregular at times, however, this is to be expected for any caregiving position. Overall, I highly recommend working for this company!

A typical day at work would be one where I try to make my clients happy, making sure that I fulfill all the daily living activities outlined.
One thing I have learned is to be very conservative and know when to recommend something to my client like asking if they would like to take a bath and how they would like for me to assist them with that. Always seek their opinion that way they know they are in full control of themselves and I try not to make them seem or feel handicapped.
Well, I feel management needs to always be in communication with employees. 
The hardest part of the job is when shifts are made too stressful for an instant after an 8-hour shift a previous day and one is assigned a 12-hour shift the next day it is often very stressful.  
The most enjoyable part of the shift is leaving your client knowing that you put a smile on their face and accomplished your tasks at that shift.


Every day at work is about making a difference in someone’s life. Work involves caring for residents with compassion and patience, making every moment count. I’ve learned the importance of empathy, effective communication, and adaptability in providing personalized support. The management is approachable and genuinely values the well-being of both staff and residents. The workplace culture is warm and family-like, fostering meaningful connections with both colleagues and residents. The hardest part is seeing residents struggle with health challenges, but the most enjoyable part is bringing joy to their day, whether through a kind word, a shared laugh, or simply being there for them.








Arrived on time for my shift at 4pm with my client Mrs S. Exchange pleasantry and we went for a walk for about thirty minutes. Assisted her to the washroom, then at 5pm heated her dinner and reminded her of medication. Assisted her to change to her pjamas.
I  learn I need to be patience with my clients.
The hardest part of the Job is the short hours.

Warm embrace is a great company to work for, they really pride themselves in helping people and making a difference! Everyone I have met who works here is great, they are so nice and have a heart of gold. The training offered is wonderful, it really sets you up for the workplace and teaches you all the fundamentals about dementia and different clients. Variety of shifts and shift times is great, always availability to pick up hours, and it's nice to have an extra premium for weekend shifts.
The staff is very helpful and you feel like you are really making a difference working here. I definitely recommend this workplace to anyone! Great management, great business, and your work truly makes a difference!

Elder care is rewarding and fulfilling work. You get to see absolute delight on the face of your client when you arrive and you have the chance to get to know your clients in a beautiful way if you take the time. The management at Warm Embrace clearly cares for both clients and staff and they show it tangibly. I had a couple of hard days and it was so reassuring to know that I had a contact at the office who was there just to support me and other staff. What a gift that is! There are some hard moments in the job but those are the times that you are most aware that you are making a difference in someone’s life. I cry with my clients but we also have lots of laughs and fun! 

Currently we are 24/7 with a client in a Residential Nursing Home.  Our shifts are 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 10:00 am.  
We provide compassionate care to a lovely 100 years young woman with dementia.
We tend to all of her personal care plus making sure she takes medications and that she eats properly.  We keep her suite tidy and laundry done.
The best part of this position is the companionship, making our lady laugh and the singing!  Even with her dementia she can remember every word to hymns, nursery rhymes, bible passages and poems.
The hardest part is when she becomes emotional and she becomes "muddled" as she puts its.
We do alot of role playing and redirection.
