Pay is decent for the work you do, however the place was badly managed when I was there.  The company likes to go on a hiring spree with the goal of reaching so many employees before the end of the year only to end up having to lay people off at the end.  Their ideas of what constitutes a quality product is constantly changing.  Yesterday this issue was passable, today it is not.  Tomorow it might be ok again or it might be defcon 3,  Work is repetitive, they allow you to post for other positions/production areas, saying the person with the highest seniority gets first dibs, however, if your aim is to to be moved off your process be aware:  they never tell you what it is, so the company can say 'well we could move you to a new process but that opens up a spot on the line you currently occupy, and since you are now in the line to be moved, you have the highest seniority and the highest priority is the line you are on so we will just move you back that line because we need you there' and someone of lower seniority gets moved to a different process.

All in all a superb place to work if you want to go through life with no idea of what a decent job could be, or perhaps you recall a much better job you once had and you suffer this indignity until you either retire or become injured.

Working in the factory you meet a lot of interesting people. The people that work at Waterville TG very from very nice to immature ans even repulsive at times. Working at Waterville TG is basically like going back to high school.i huge popularity contest. If you young you constantly get picked on by the older employees and rumors start very easily and it sometimes gets stressful working with the people. The work at waterville is very repetitive and causes strain on your body Thus being said Waterville TG tried its best to help you but they just dont care about their employees. As for the salary of Waterville you get paid for what you know and only needed a Gr.12 education (some people don't even have that) you get paid well and the benefits are good.

Production factory open 24/7, with the exception of some civic holidays. Decent pay and benefits, but most of upper management is disorganized or simply don't care about quality of production or the labourers. Some would have betting pools on which employee would be fired, HR made it very difficult to file for Workman's Comp regarding injuries on the job, and not all supervisors would take responsibility for disruption of the work line or the day's quality, despite managing the line a product being their job. As a result many of the employees were discontent and occasionally surly.

Rumour mill is rampant. Supervisors were told to keep an eye on people to see who they could fire. As long as you did everything by the book you were safe, but management looked for ways to get rid of people. There is very little room to move up as everything is done by seniority. Union people would rarely get anything done if it was for individual workers. Great benefits, amazing wage, and banked vacation time. 

Seriously if you are there it is for the wage and benefits. As long as you stay in line and keep your head down you can keep your job. Don't expect anything more than that.

Don't work here. You will be contaminating your resume. It's not the place you can use you knowledge, skills and education. You don't gain personal growth and you don't improve as an employee with this company but instead, you will develop frustration, anxiety and stress. The management don't care for the people. If you are still working here my advice is not to trust anyone unless you really know the person. They can stub you at the back and lastly, don't show off just work as everybody else and you will keep your job for awhile.

the company has fullbtime and good benifits.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
No respect for employees, and always on you about attendance only 3 days a year allowed, also always finding more ways to make your job harder.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
very very stressful and not good for your mental health.  very hot in summer.    

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
get in do your job and get out.  not much else.

Overall, it's poorly run, and poorly managed. The company is always in crisis mode because of poor planning. Workers are completely demoralized and treated like they do not matter. Supervisors play favourites and play workers against one another. The Union is useless and runs away from their responsibilities. Machinery is broken and never properly fixed. There are numerous health and safety concerns. Most people last less than a year.

Horrible communication from management, announces layoffs with indeterminate return dates with a weeks notice, to employees with 10 years or more of service. Safety is viewed as more of a suggestion than a law. Supposed to be straight shifts but they will constantly shift employees between shifts to try and eliminate a shift before realizing they have to add the shift back to meet production needs. Constant overtime, but constantly mandating.

I loved working there, but most of the time it seemed like management didn't have a clue on how to take care of it's workers or inner workings of the plant. They used temporary workers and it seemed like they just pulled their strings with permanent hiring and then find some reason whether it be small or big to let them go and not hire them even though they put in all the hours and time...Often working there for years before being accepted as a full time union member.
