The good, the bad, and the ugly... Let me start by saying a lot of the people who work at this company are great - lots of camaraderie among co-workers and events put on by the HR team. Unfortunately, the constant state of fear, incompetence, and indecisiveness on behalf of the management team will soon bring this ship down. The Strathroy facility is absolutely fantastic and has a lot of potential to produce superb cannabis products, however no one on the management team has any experience with FMCG, none of them are cannabis people, and they entirely lack vision for how to actually generate revenue and increase their distribution. In my opinion, they are out of their league, they will have a lot of write downs coming, and significant SG&A as a result of the merger despite the management team firing numerous highly qualified, hard working people (they take such extravagant salaries/bonuses themselves that it pales to the $2MM they have cut over the past few months. If you're a job seeker, I strongly caution you to evaluate things for yourself. However, if you really want the job, don't ask questions because management does not like being questioned. You'll be rewarded for blind loyalty until the cash runs out and they get rid of you to save themselves. Don't go into things believing that you have a career here because you don't. Out of the 250 or so employees, literally only 4 people have lasted more than 2.5 years. I would recommend that you don't waste your time, and more importantly, your energy as this is a toxic workplace and a sinking ship. Also, chances are unless you are friends with someone on the management team, you will not ever be hired to a senior position (and definitely not promoted).

That's the general mantra at WeedMD. There is no onboarding/training, management is extremely hands off to the point of entirely lacking accountability and providing you with face time to accomplish your deliverables, and I cannot stress enough regarding the politics and gossip - it's the most toxic workplace I've ever been apart of.  The HR department is not your friend and is only there to protect the company (unless you are friends with the head of HR). There is zero chance to move up in the company, nor to maximize your earnings potential (i.e. bonuses are misleading as they do not set KPIs for success and will not pay). Objectively, hard work seems to be rewarded with getting fired (counter-intuitive, I know, but that's the reality at this company; when you get close to senior management and start asking questions which they cannot answer due to incompetence and nepotism which got them the jobs in the first place, they actively engage in ways to try and terminate your employment). A typical day involved fighting with department heads and C-suite to try and not have them sabotage myself or larger operations. The only enjoyable part of this experience was a lot of my co-workers, if we were not in the trenches together, my experience would have been much shorter.

Management could not care less about individual workers. Schedules are volatile and unless you are hired on fully, expect to have to work with no consistency. You might work 12 hour shifts one week, 9 hours the next, and you will rarely have 8 hour shifts. Long hours for multiple days at a time, if you are lucky enough to even be given a full schedule. Putting a great deal of effort in with Weed MD will win you no recognition, regardless of the time you work or the quality of your work. Temporary workers are hired on and thrown away with no reason given. Security requires you arrive very early to work to even clock in on time. There are not enough facilities for the number of people they try to schedule all at once (small break room with too few seats, change room is extremely crowded, very few bathrooms, too few stations to clock in and out, etc.). Most people will have a long drive, and there are not enough parking spaces for the high number of workers most of the time.

Weed MD will promise you everything and give you nothing. Not worth working here unless by some miracle you can get in full time without a temp agency.

Almyer location was awful to work at. The ladies working there for a while are entitied, rude and gossipers to the new people or temp people. They make you feel unwelcome even though I drove 40 mins out of my way just for this temp job. The supervisors in the trimming and packaging dept have horrible attitudes and when you stick up for yourself (they think they can talk down to you) they complain about you and try to fire you. 
Strathroy location was ok, was placed in different areas as the trimming dept was always full. No guaranteed hours in the dept you want to work at. And when you complain to your temp agency about how awful you’re treated nothing changes, you’re just a number.
Ungrateful work places, drove 40 mins to both locations and was treated horrible. $15 is not worth the stress and wear and tear on your car.

I enjoyed working with the folks at WeedMD, Aylmer, a lot. They were very friendly and easy going.

There appeared to be some transition issues, at the time. Jars for orders weren't on hand when the orders were ready for processing, or the lids didn't fit the jars. The product often seemed inferior in bud size & trimming aspects resulting in delays in packaging. It was always one thing or another. The packaging  staff was routinely placed into other departments but mostly Sanitation (dishwashing).

The management seemed to do a lot of buck passing and infighting between department heads.

All in all I liked working in the Cannabis industry, but this company was experiencing growing pains at the time I worked there in Oct 2018 to March 2019.

I hated the company for what they did to me. Let's begin with saying I was on of their best workers moving on up and going to a higher position as a what they call Team Lead position and then they fired me during this pandemic and said I was not a good fit when I had 500 hours in and I was ready to move up. Dont waste your time with this company I put my heart and soul into it and I got burned hard considering I have a family to look out for a Bill's and I cant collect any money from the government cause you stupid idoits wanted me to suffer during a pandemic and watch my family come poor while you make millions cause of cannibis it makes me sick and makes me feel like complete garbage

I’ve been here few weeks now and so far I’ve enjoyed the job, it can get repetitive but that’s okay with me I enjoy staying busy, I enjoy the fact that once I’m done work I can go home without any worries, I like the team I work with they really care about one another, 

I was at Weedmd for one month n it was good at the start but became the Worst place I ever worked at, I was always being told I was doing a good job n then out of the blue I was cleaning for a showcase they were gonna have the next day I was called into the office n told I was no longer need as they were doing some restructuring n because my job had been the last one created it was the frist on the chopping block 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Lear something new revetime was exiting. Interact with the people and solving problem, was a very good experience

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Be on time with the goal of production

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
very friendly and positive atitude

Horrible management. If you know your stuff they see it as a threat. HR department think they are police and will treat you like sh** if they don’t like you in general. Especially if your pretty. They also fire people on the daily so just be careful. Do not engage with any one. Keep to yourself. Other than that, you should be okay.
