Weir Canada was easily the best company I have worked for.

This is a company that encourages it's employees to reach their potential by challenging them to find improvements that can be made and letting them lead the process of implementing those improvements. It is also a company that has a greater focus on learning from mistakes rather than punishing them.

Poisoned culture, management keeps secrets and doesn't tell staff what's really going on. Overall the management is only worried how they appear to head office. Head office believes everything management in Canada tells them and most of the time it's all lies. Weir only cares about the profits and nothing else 

Loved my time working here. Work was straight forward. The team was welcoming and safety standards where fantastic, without crossing the line into nonsensical. The management is dedicated to seeing you succeed. Could do with a little more sleep in the morning though, 5am starts are rough.

If you want to work for a company that you are never quite sure what is going on then this is the place for you, Management have very poor communication skills, in addition this company although they say they believe in safety, that only go's so far as they don't want you to report it. I give this company a solid "F" for fail

Company pays well. 
Benefits are good.
Long hour for salaried employee, lots of pressure coming down from the top 
Over worked and not every employee is treated the same way. 
HR department is a joke
You can get promoted if you are good at the art of brown nosing your manager
Management does not respect any employees

Management is all over the place,  accepting risky contracts without consideration or active conversations with the shop floor for feed back on the risks or appropriate time frames. lead hands are the whipping boys, they stand up for there workers until the other lead hands/ management harass them into obedience.

Maintain mining equipment for various clients 
Problem solving on all mining sites
Production increasing 
Downtime elimination 
Customer satisfaction

Fast paced environment.  Interesting projects.  Collaborative co workers (the best part was working with a great team of capable people).
Sound management.  Company perform well.


Good vendor shop with international distribution.  Typical work day but lots of travel to Ontario. Project Management and controls tools were non-existent at the time. Managing engineering team long distance was a challenge to ensure deadlines were being met.

Have a chance to work on some veterans on the pump industry, 
 sales and services and although I enjoy the job,  sadly the company start operation on their Mississauga plant/ office.
