Not managed well.  Laborers are considered a "dime a dozen" by management yet they never seem to have enough staff to meet the demands of management bringing in the contracts to line their own pockets. I have seen high turnover. Over emphasis on safety is not for the concern of workers rather to remove liabilities from the company. REAL safety concerns brought to the attention of management are repeatedly swept under the rug. Basic safety standards are not adhered to by management which sets a bad example. (management/supervisors on the shop floor often without proper PPE) Employee evaluations are done only once per year and if you qualify a very minimal raise can be expected. Training for new positions is minimal and no opportunity to advance. Innovative thinking is discouraged. Dirty work, hot shop, no adequate cooling or ventilation of fumes and the PPE requirements in these conditions are over the top. (full leather smock/shoulders OVER your coveralls, full face shield and respirator in 35+ degrees=lots of fun in the grinding booth...not!)
Very low moral. Hard to keep people motivated and in good spirits.
60 hours per week + 5 hours on either Saturday or Sunday = no life.
Would not recommend this company to anyone no matter how desperate they are for work.

Manufacturer and service company of everything but Weir oil and gas products.confusing to customers what can be done and what they want. A mess constant battles within the company divisions and no one will admit this it's hush hush. Old facility old equipment that's poorly maintained. ISO plus  quality poorly managed  as commented b clients when work is not at par. Example of over managed and under performing.
Divisions click.  Clients read this. Feeling comes from high up.

40 years ago the millwrights wore white coveralls and were considered among the best. The work was challenging with as many hours as you could bear. Over time.. the bean counters called the shots, equipment was patched. Benefits pared back. Wages became stagnant. Safety rules a tad over the top. The men/women on the floor.. only as good as their last job.
Working at Weir/Peacock provided for my family well enough, albeit with considerable loss of family time.

Productive workplace with innovative ideas. I learnt to be independent in Weir because my boss believes you must meet the deadlines no matter what happens.

The hardest part of the job occurs every month end, when everyone is require to deliver.  

The most interesting part of the job is the second week of the new month when everyone is relax and have time to go for lunch together.

I don't really have much to say here at this time, I'm not at liberty to say much. Typical start was at 8 if not out in the field.

I did learn a lot of how to do the job better, and was to interact with many different people and situations. Many problem solving solutions required at time. Long hours at times.

Millwright- poor organized work load, lots of days off without pay, management more interested in meeting month end quotta , management looks down upon you and do not appreciate your work quality or devotion.  Foremen treat you like kids yelling and screaming at you before they ask the questions for correct answers.
I left for less money but happier work.

Weir was a great start if you want experience getting into valves and great pay with little to none experience. My manager and supervisor was nothing but great to me understanding and patient and friendly. When you show up and want to learn they will teach you to no limit coworkers just plain awesome I can honestly say it’s a great place. 

Overall it's a great company to work for, management is very knowledgeable as were most people employed there. If you ever had a question, they did their best to get you the right answers as fast as they could.

Out of all my years working this was the worst disrespectful place I have ever worked at. Management has no training and treats staff like garbage. Just sits on phone in office. Throws objects and kicks things around shop. Had a well blow out and almost lost my life. Safety is not a concern to this company.

I was not rushed to preform work at anypoint of the month untill it come to the last week of every month where management will push any piece of equipment out the door regardless if its complete just to meet budjet 
then accuse employees of not completing the task at hand prior to shipping
