It depends on the job at hand . From service plumbing to commercial, big jobs little jobs .

I worked for West Bay for about 2 and a half years. In the sheetmetal division, And was treated greatly right from day one. They started me out on my Apprenticeship and pushed me hard to succeed. It didn't just feel like I was working with a team, I felt like I was working with a secondary family. 
I learned very quickly that if you work hard here. You will be treated fairly, and it won't go un-noted or unappreciated.

I worked for westbay, was always early completed every job, communicated with the office as required. Collected payment on site when required but was told I wasn't a good fit. Seems more of a politics game than a career. Doesn't matter if you do good or bad it's if you fit into their club. Customers left hanging questions unanswered both from customers and ex employees. Copability would be nice !! 
Will never be the same outside of the Rozons control !! 

I've noticed multiple reviews that are definitely fake to boost their ratings. It is extremely poorly managed and there is no communication or organization. You are met with backlash if something is brought up and scolded if you do not do everything they ask which is more that what you get paid for.

during my time with west bay they accounted for time off due to brain surgery and they allowed me to take rehab and work half days and slowly work back up to full health, they knew i was going through a tough time and accommodated, so i worked hard for them because they looked out for me

Overall great company. I would highly recommend them. Very knowledgeable/experienced journeyman to learn from, high work quality standards, relaxed learning environment and over all great vibe. Just work hard and don’t be afraid to ask for help. You’ll do great! 

 A typical day at work, managers overload you with unrealistic expectations, treat you like multiple people, and rarely listen or support your concerns.

Early start, with safety meeting. Job tasks were assigned in a progressive manner. Good communication between supervisor and crews. Coworkers professional and knowledgeable.

West Bay in Nanaimo is for the old guy in the office to have a steady pay check while they can’t get any jobs.  People with families are let go while the incompetence of the estimators and office staff goes unchecked.
