What is the best part of working at the company?
Very Strong safety and communication. Daily morning meetings, Wednesday safety toolbox talks, monthly site wide saftey meetings. 2 way radios on operators and labourers. Responsive head office & HR. Great company & vision with excellent people throughout. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Pulled in many different directions; some part of the plan (like deliveries all at once) and others a response to the days events to keep the trades moving. ie power box outages, lights off & need to go back on ASAP! 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Growth and supportive culture. Disciplined and trusting; MUST NOT Be Late!! Honour system with the time cards. You are in charge of your breaks. Head office is quick to reply and give support with newsletters a responsive HR dept. Monthly lessons on topics like finance, mental health, safety & personal development. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
7 am meeting, discover task. 
Set up jobs with tools & materials, update software for FLHA and machine inspections. Complete task. Report to Foreman. Communicate when taking breaks.

Lack of inclusivity: If you're not in the inner circle, you're treated like an outsider.

Toxic office environment: The company fosters a culture of favoritism, making it impossible for non-connected employees to succeed and fit in. 

Poor management: Managers fail to recognize or address the divide, allowing toxic behaviors to thrive.

HR doesn't address concerns: They deflect serious issues and make you feel like you are therproblem.

Hiring bias: Decisions are based on personal connections, not qualifications, leaving more qualified candidates overlooked.

Unfair accountability: Some are held accountable for mistakes, while others in the "in-group" aren't.

Working at a fast growing company always comes with stress, but it's offset by a lot of satisfaction and fulfillment here. 

Tasks and projects tend to be different every day and goals can shift so being adaptable is a must.

You will learn A LOT about every stage of the development industry here.

The environment is very collaborative and fun. Management seems to truly care about staff here, and regularly shows their appreciation which can be rare in this industry. 

Lots of hiring from within, and many promotions awarded. 

On the ground, the staff are awesome. People tend to work hard, keep a positive attitude and there is always work to be done. They offer lots of opportunity for people looking to get certificates. Traffic, first aid and zoom boom you can probably get within your first year in the company. If you’re dedicated they will consider sponsorship into a carpentry.

The down side is your job is typically to streamline work for other trades. This means a lot of time cleaning, moving material and doing labour with very little time on tools, even as an apprentice.

Over all, the company is fair and have tons of work available.

The job starts out great but unless you are part of the inner circle you're expendable. Extremely toxic environment that is nurtured by hostile managers and an HR department that makes you the problem.

The goal-post changes daily, policies routinely change back and forth, and managers never ask for input nor recognize hard work. Repercussions are only delt out to the outsiders while others seem to be able to make their own rules and schedules.

Being let go with no notice and being told you get a profit share only to have it taken away after you worked the whole year and deserved  it

It's good at the start if the job but by the end it's very hostel

Working hard in or outside with whatever needs to be done

You can tell they are trying to be progressive in work culture, but alot of the supervisors/foreman's ect are all very much old timers. Its good pay 90% of your co-workers are awesome. Long long days (minimum of 10hrs) but they dish out overtime like its going out of style. The only job security you really have is if your training to be something like a carpenter or interested in framing. You can’t just work there for the sake cashing a paycheque. Or what happened to me will happen to you. 

Exciting growth as the company is starting to expand into other provinces.  People really care about doing good work and care for each other.  As a growing company, employees need to be ok with change, moving fast and having some ambiguity.  Opportunity to share ideas and make a real contribution.

They are based on the Island far away.

Poor senior management and a lack of leadership.

Fer culture due to dishonesty at a senior level.

10 hours of disjointed activity

Every day brings an inviting challenge that the business culture embraces with the work hard, play harder mentality. 

Our company is extremely team focused and each person I have had the pleasure to work with understands the importance of working together to get the job done right. Management and co-workers motivate one another to perform to the best of their ability.
