As I love the industry and the work this company is tied to, there is layers of internal happenings within Westbury that makes working there an unenjoyable experience for many great/hard working folks who aspire to have a career in show production. 

Low wage with very little opportunity grow becomes a huge problem, and the majority of people working in the shop have a really hard time covering basic living costs. 

Also unnecessary abuse from middle management of some departments. (Example: Someone once took 3 days off to take care of a mental health reason and when returned got a discipline warning/written up because they didn't book the time off in advance to take care of an unexpected life issue).

- Typical day at work would include, setup and strike of events, as well as mixing live audio for shows.

- Learned different production technique's as well as creative ideas on a daily basis.

- Management was great, efficient, very structured and clear on what needed to get done.

- Co-workers were very helpful and polite to other co-workers around them.

- Hardest part of the job would have to be the hours, some hours would overnight shifts, sometimes into the afternoon. 

- The idea of creating a space into an exciting show and being able to work with different local talents was most exciting.

Worked as a technician for 8 years at this AV company.  Found it hard to grow and move up the ladder.  Pretty organized company, however the favoritism is really bad.  With new ownership this company has gone down hill fast.  Lots of people who worked here for 20 plus years have quit recently.  Again, lots of good people but also lots of disgruntled people.  If you have a family and kids and like to see them, this place is not for you.

Every contract provides completely different challenges, all of which have to be met and exceeded. Efficiency, image, quality of work and functionality are key. Using a variety of skills at a high level of mastery made this job very rewarding and steady growth is inevitable.

Across the City of Toronto and beyond, the crew at Westbury National Show Systems know how to work hard and have a good time.  The hardest part of the job is the hours (it gets really busy sometimes!) but the most enjoyable part is working on new and exciting projects with a great crew.

Outstanding craftsman ship dedicated crew, with a neatly organized team that stands above the rest in all the many shows, that we take care of,

it was a job i worked there i did not agree with a lot of their decisions but whatever it was a job i was qualified for and now i'm being held hostage by a website by having to meet a character count

Flexible and laid-back working environment. BBQ's during summer months, need to hire within before looking external, need more challenge, need experienced managers and supervisors.

Good people, educational opportunities, BBQs in summer lots of neat gear around. Clean workplace. Management could be a little conflicting between departments

not a great place to work 
not much support 
often get left to figure out how to do tasks by your self 
pay is not anywhere close to the rest of the industry standards
