Westeck Windows is an overall fair employer with very smart people taking the lead positions. This company is on the forefront of many positive changes for the window and door industry and is a leader in this field. The workplace culture is welcoming and understanding and the people who work there all nice people. The benefits are very good here. This company is however, not without its quirks. It has a demonstrated history of having an extremely painful process in order to get a raise (this goes for floor and office staff), even if your work history demonstrates that you should be deserving of one. Yearly reviews are not a standard in place to give you a known chance at asking for one. Office politics and drama have been known to get the best of situations and favouritism is exposed in these situations. This company could use a more structured approach when it comes to these internal matters.

I have been working at Westeck for almost a year now can honestly say that I have learned a lot in my time here. Within six months of starting I was given new responsibilities which has allowed me to gain great experience and develop new skills. Throughout my time here Senior Management have been very supportive and receptive to the ideas and suggested changes I have had. If you are motivated, can work well with others, and can think outside the box, this is a great company which will provide you with endless opportunities for personal and career growth. 

With all this said, the company isn't perfect. There are a number of challenges that the company is currently working to fix that affect both office and production staff alike. If these can be solved it will make it a truly great place to work. 



Working at a window and door company has been a fantastic experience for me. I have been able to enjoy my job thanks to the flexible work hours and great pay that the company offers.

The flexible work hours have allowed me to have a better work-life balance and have made it easier for me to schedule appointments with clients. This has also made it easier for me to attend to personal commitments without feeling overwhelmed.

In addition, the great pay that the company offers has been a major plus for me. I feel appreciated for the work that I do and the compensation reflects that. This has motivated me to work harder and provide top-notch service to our clients.

Overall, I am very happy with my experience at the window and door company. The flexible work hours and great pay have made it a fulfilling job for me. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a rewarding and enjoyable job in the industry.

Zero respect, credibility, honesty and confidentiality. It does not exist. In the shop as well as the office you will face a very toxic environment. Drinks while at the head office is a requirement to fitting into the clique otherwise you will be ultimately pushed aside and not included in company events. Management will only promote and give raises to..select individuals.. who will go above and beyond. For a company with the potential to employ many people in the community; they have an extremely quick turnover which falls directly at the feet of every person in a management position. Those in management can be found letting their lack of involvement and responsibility fall at the support workers who do not get paid enough to clean up their slack. Ensure you have a thick skin, high tolerance to toxic environments, and willing to…. Go above and beyond….. prior to applying. 

Westeck Windows and Doors is by far the best company I have ever worked for.  Definitely a company where I see myself staying permanently because of the amazing growth potential that the company offers. You start from the bottom but you can quickly work your way up if you are dedicated. 

Working here for the past 4 years has been nothing short of fantastic. I learned how to rip and install a window, got my caulking to its true perfection and always take pride in my work. 

As for Management, they are incredibly supportive and serve to help you. I couldn't have asked for a better boss.

The hardest part of the job has to be the heights, getting to the window itself can sometimes be a challenge. Most enjoyable part of the job was the customers’ reactions and praise for our work. 

Culture varies between buildings and departments, can be a huge difference between working in the plant, field services, sales, or working in the office. Every manager seems to have their own management-style and you just need to make sure you end up in the department that suits your needs. Internal transfers and promotions are quite possible though.

But it's a bit of "start at the bottom and work yourself up" attitude, and don't expect too much landholding while you're learning the tricks of the trade. If that fits you, then Westeck is an awesome place to work!

Having your fellow employees insult you make you feel sad because you are not making very much money.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The kind of place where everybody talks about leaving they're unhappy and they're not making any money.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Eleven hour a day draining. Constant gossip that brings everybody down.
Because the owner is so inconsiderate to his employees.

Was here for almost 7 years. Best advice I can say going into this job is just put your best foot forward. If you have a willingness to learn and have a good attitude you will do great here. I’ve never had a problem with my Leads or Supers and have always felt supported. Pay is kinda meh but it’s not the worst. There are several premiums that can increase your wage outside the current cap. 

I definitely learned a lot from working here, just gotta have a good attitude and willingness to try and show up and you’ll be a great fit for the team! 

I cannot believe the behaviour displayed when working for this company. After suffering the emotional abuse I came to notice a disgusting lugay   on the piece of Widow frame I was supposed to get! When I brought the issue to the management they quickly dismissed the claim, and yelled at me to get back to work! I've never walked off a job like that before, but I got all my things cleared out my locker and left. Given the public heath concerns it was the right thing to do.  

Overall, Westeck Windows has a great culture, a great group of men and women to be around and I feel that I am highly valued as an employee. 

It's a fast paced working environment but I wouldn't want it any other way. My manager is incredibly supportive and I really appreciate the recognition I receive for my hard work. 

And what I love the most about this company is how focused we are on contributing to an environmentally sustainable future through the innovative products that we provide.
