The management is very understanding of the fact that you have a life outside of work. For the most part, everyone who works here is friendly (with one or two exceptions).

It's a pretty flat organization structure so there's no real possibility for advancement. Most people stick around because of the flexibility and the great pension and benefits rather than for pay or career advancement. Every second Friday off is also a plus.

Pay is mediocre and has been going down. The provincial government hasn't increased the museum's funding in years and that means employees don't always get cost of living increases. Many jobs pay significantly less than similar positions in other places.

Family like feeling with customers and staff but on the same point it’s like it’s own little town, so everyone knows everything about everyone... or so they think. 
The benefits and pension plan are amazing to have which the museum supplies.
The wage is just minimum so nothing special.
Hours are good, they accomidate everyone!

I have completed the blacksmithing course at the WDM, and have volunteered in their workshop. The older smiths are very knowledgeable. The work environment was surreal- I kept thinking I had slipped back in time. My task was to provide a "living exhibit" by doing my forging work as performance art for the customers of the museum.

The manager at the time when I worked there was very rude and did not act kindly when I asked for assistance as this was my first desk job. Although the other staff were mostly nice there was times when I had to interact with children which I was not comfortable with at the time.

Fantastic people, with a commitment to Saskatchewan history. This is not a 9 to 5 Monday to Friday place. There is no typical workday. I learnt the be flexible because what you planned had to be worked around the necessities of the day.

great place if you are interested to work somewhere with a purpose, the leadership team has a vision and communicates that to the team.
The organization has been around for many years and it's working on staying relevant 


Interesting cultural organization doing valuable work, kind caring people. Fun staff who are very knowledgeable about the history of Saskatchewan with a true passion for the province  

Nice place to build experience and get your foot in the door of building operations. The people are very hospitable and helpful. The hours are great. There is also food ordered every other week. Great place overall.

The atmosphere is very relaxed, making the work culture great. All the departments get along well, and everyone is very friendly. There is lots to do as well, so there is never a dull moment, and you are always learning new things.
