Working at Wesgroup Equipment has been a great place to work. It is rewarding to work with others, who are like-minded and helpful. It’s also a fun place, with such activities as: summer BBQs (chance to dunk your Manager), Friday events (ice cream, veggies & dip or pizza); Baseball challenge games, and annual Christmas Party is excellent.

I can honestly say that Management cares about their employees. There is a genuine interest in getting to know you as a person, not just an employee. As well, Wesgroup wants us to have a good balance between work and family life.  On that note, our CEO has sent out various communications which have provided valuable insights into to how to achieve this. 

Management encourages employees to practice continual learning, and also provide continual training. All this starts right from your first day.  Onboarding at Wesgroup was an incredible experience, i.e. well organized checklists, extensive (days/weeks) one-on-one training, videos to watch, SOP (30+) to review and also lots of information regarding the business and company’s background. Within a few short weeks, I gained enough knowledge to perform my job, even though I was very new to the Parts World.   

Kudos to Management for recognizing potential in people and moving them into new roles. I am a prime example and extremely happy with the change in responsibilities and increased pay.  I might add at this point that the compensation package at Wesgroup is very good. 

This is the first company I have worked for, in my long career, where employees can recognize each other for performing outstanding work, by nominating others for a GRIT award. GRIT winners receive a gift. Once a year, top GRIT winners have a chance to go on a trip (Chicago was 2022 destination) with the CEO and other GRIT winners. Most of our employees find this very motiving and exciting. 



My experience working for Westerra Equipment has been fantastic. My colleagues are helpful, knowledgeable, and career drive. Management is supportive, passionate, and reasonable regardless of the context. Anytime I have had an issue whether it be professionally, or personally, management has been incredible. The company in general is progressive and adaptive to the current challenges facing our industry. As an employee you are held accountable for your work, and that can make some people who cut corners sour, but ultimately the level of accountability only improves your value as an employee and a working professional. Credit is given where credit is due and the culture of Westerra is great. Opportunities are provided for employees internally who may want to alter career paths.  Everyone is treated fairly and it's a very respectful, inclusive environment.  If you are looking for a career that challenges you, supports you, and improves your quality of life, I highly recommend Westerra Equipment. If you are driven and looking for a great career, this is a company you will want to consider becoming a part of.

The upper management are mainly men who are running the place with there egos. Hiring only those who are "Yes" men so they will do exactly as they are told and really dont do any work, except for the Operation managers dirty work. If you look out for your team mates and help them try to improve themselves they will terminate the other person for not being a "team player". 
I would not recommend this work place, i didnt meet one person working there that liked there job. Every employee is miserable and complains about the company. They do a 6 month probation and to be honest your job is not safe at anytime. They are loosing employees every day and its all because upper management gas lights and manipulates his employees. You wont go a week without an employee going up in tears because of management and how they talk and treat them. 

I enjoy coming to work every day to greet people who are not just my co-workers but people who have become my friends. The customers we have are always kind and a pleasure to deal with, The team atmosphere we have here means your never alone when dealing with a challenge or if you simply have a question. Management is transparent, accessible and supportive right to the top of our company with the executive team in frequent contact with all employees of the company at every branch. There are many opportunities to learn with training provided online or in courses as individuals or part of a group. I have received multiple certifications and many skills since working here. I would recommend people to work for our company any day.

Westerra offers the ability to develop your career at all levels.  Techs are highly trained, ales, support staff and front line people are engaging and management continues to develop its abilities.  The company has invested heavily in new facilities and stands behind their products.

Westerra has developed a great culture to work in.  The organization promotes trust, team work and supports the community.  The pace can be exciting at times but does balance out in the long run.  As with anything in life, you get out of it what you put into it.  I have had a very positive experience working with Westerra / Wesgroup Equipment.  

I truly believe that if you are looking for a positive change, Westerra should be your first stop.  The hiring process is lengthy and has very high standards, but well worth the effort.

I was hired right after university graduation in the accounting/finance team. The management provided useful training and career development for young professionals. I was given opportunities to work on multiple important projects to gain valuable hands-on industry working experience. The management also promotes work-life balance and employee health through some incentive program. In my department, my colleagues were really friendly and knowledgeable. We had a lot of team building events after work. Even after I left the company for over two years, I still kept in touch with them.

Definitely not a well managed company I think you just have pay the government enough money then you can use that slogan. Branch that I worked at had one employee who spent his whole day “bouncing” like a tennis ball  from one office to another back stabbing & complaining about other departments & other employee’s as well as customers. I was very happy when COVID came & I got a temporary layoff for 3 months, that was over 9 months ago have never heard anything from them. Have heard of very unprofessional things happening since I left as well. Final words to anyone thinking of applying here stay far far away, they are a want to be Finning but they will never come close. 

The company was recognized in 2021 as a Great Palace to Work by its employees. Culture is very collaborative. Hard days happened, but I was comfortable that I had support from the management and team. I felt I was not a number, and my work and presence made a difference. The pay was competitive with most other companies, but it was not the best. I chose them as it is not just the pay; I liked the company culture. There is room for growth. I had the support from my manager to receive the training that I needed, which was a bonus. I had a life/work balance and was not stressed out all the time.

Great place to learn, and great staff. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Very corporate environment. Upper management doesn’t feel like it cares about its employees.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very corporate. You feel like another cog in the machine. Very replaceable. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful and busy. Scrambling to divide my attention between shipping/receiving duties and supplying parts in a timely fashion to the shop.

When I was searching for long term employment, a few years back, I came across Westerra Equipment. What stood out to me was their core values. They make it a point to share them publicly and they stand behind them.
Westerra Equipment is a family orientated place of business. They understand the importance of work-life balance.
We have a good group of people here and I enjoy working alongside them. 
If you are looking for a workplace to move up in, Westerra is a great option. There is a lot of room for growth here if you choose to put forth the effort.
