A typical day was conveying information to students and testing on their ability to retain and actively implement the subject matter. I learned as much from the students as they did from me. The management at the time was excellent and devoted to positive student outcomes. Our workplace culture was one of a family all working together to produce high quality graduates. The most difficult part of the job was the long hours of grading papers and developing fresh curriculum. The most enjoyable part of the job was the success of the students.

The students were awesome which made me work hard for them, but unappreciated by the company. With new management change the culture became toxic, and abusive. Staff walking on pins and needles. Many long standing great educators and instructors with 15-20 yrs experience ended up leaving. Prior to that  it was a pleasant place to work, and a safe place to bring up concerns and health conflict resolution.

The students are by far the best part

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Lack of resources for instructors and outdated technology

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very fake.  Management needs a lot of work.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Putting out fires with students while covering for management's shortcomings

Employee beware: This company WAS an amazing place to work until a recent management change turned into a disaster. Management is unsupportive and hostile. Communication is so non-existent even the students have noticed! Friendliness between employees is frowned upon. Unreasonable demands steadily increase. Positive feedback is unheard of. Toxicity fills the hallways. Staff dread going to work each day.

Very rewarding job instructing the students, but the company did not treat the instructors well and compensation was low for the job expectations.NO management for months during the bankruptcy stage, then once the college was sold, everyone was let go with no notice.  Very unprofessional the way everything was handled.

The reason the school failed is management just didn't care about their staff or students. And it showed. It was clear staff members in management were willing to step on their workers to get ahead. Westervelt needed more leaders not bosses. There is a difference.

The management prior to COVID was great and the experience was amazing. New management and a new director made working there stressful 

Great students. curriculum is excellent.  Slow process in keeping up to date in health care industry 
Management is toxic, poor communication everyone out for themselves. Students are left with false hopes and inconsistencies. 

Atypical day at work was relaxed. Being able to teach in a manner that reflected the needs of each student was liberating.

I learned so much about myself in regards to confidence and strengths.
