The nature of this workplace is that you will be introduced to clients and expected to help them lead rewarding lives, through their disabilities. The job description varies based on the internal program you end up working for and can include: cooking, cleaning, bathing, employment helping, travel, meetings, journal entry and client centered learning and planning. At times this job can feel really rewarding and the best job on the planet, at other times you can be dealing with destructive behaviors and struggling with figuring out their cause(s). (note you are a worker first and do have responsibilities, even during fun times like parties and always need to behave as such)

The best part of this job are the individuals you support. They leave an imprint on your heart forever. The second best thing are your colleagues, genuinely great people who truly care about the individuals served and those around them. Supportive, caring and uplifting. 
The office staff is amazing. The minute you step in you are greeted by a wonderful administrative professional who is always smiling. The executive director is a wonderful person who truly cares about the individuals served and the staff equally. HR specialist is one of the best people you’ll meet. And of course the program coordinator, a true kind heart who is there for everyone when needed. The culture WIN has created is something to be proud of. 

The hardest part of the job is leaving work at work. You often find yourself feeling overwhelmed when you get home, but it is manageable. 

Stay away from this company if you value your sanity. 
While working for/with the clients is a very rewarding and fulfilling experience the management and company is one of the worst I’ve seen. Management will not help you, they will say you can talk to them about any issues you have. That’s a lie and borderline a trap. They will use what you say against you in future meetings and throw you under the bus. They’ll work you like a dog and you will get no appreciation or recognition. If you want to feel like you’re back in high school dealing with the popular mean girls, then this is your place. Management will belittle you, gaslight you, and will victimize themselves. Avoid this company at all costs. 

The workplace culture is absolutely amazing here. Management wants you to succeed and gives you all the tools to be able to do so. The team I work with is always quick to help or be there if you need anything or have any questions. The work can be challenging at times, however it is super rewarding to be there to help someone achieve skills they need to succeed in their day to day life. The hours you receive are very much based on your willingness to work, with opportunities to apply for part-time/full-time positions when your probationary period is up. 

Enjoyable work environment; management approachable and appears to be concerned about staff needs; 

Client interaction is the enjoyable part of the day;  often working alone  because of shift worked; The team and culture is positive  and strive to ensure best options are secured for workers; work and life balance is highly regarded - i. e. close eye kept on hours to ensure that client support  from staff is not strained due to having too many hours of work.

From the individuals we serve, to the people that come in every day and make it all possible. This is a very rewarding job, some times are more challenging than others. But with the support of coworkers, team leaders, and management staff finding support is easy. Choose your attitude every day, it makes a difference with the individuals you serve. Great place to work.

WIN is what you want it to be. There is room and opportunities to learn and grow as much as you choose to. The pay is on par with the industry which is not nearly what it should be but the rewards make up for it. Like anywhere there are some negative nellies but generally this is a supportive work family. If you are compassionate and like to see people succeed, there’s no better workplace

No worker support, no balance between home and work even though it’s encouraged, no opportunity to do so. Benefits are offered but very expensive for what you receive. Any disability offered will never be received no matter what medical information verified.  

I found my job at WIN on indeed 7 years ago. Im so happy I did. They welcomed me with open arms as I was new to the province. They encouraged me to succeed, I’ve moved up to a team leader position. This place is like family to me, from the individuals we serve, their families and the staff. 

Tons of useful training that is beneficial to staff, great communication within the team and friendly people within the office always willing to lend a helping hand.
