Working at Westmount Moving, days went by really fast; the hours were long, however, the people I worked with were extremely nice and I learned to be part of a team, and gained necessary leadership skills and teamwork skills. Management was a bit disorganized mainly because some moving jobs changed from day to day, and the movers were always rescheduled depending on the job. The hardest part of being a mover is being able to work long shifts (i.e 20 hour shifts during high season) and waking up the next morning and coming into work full of energy and ready to put all of your effort in again. The most enjoyable part of being a mover is that you get to meet new people on a daily basis, which consequently improves your social skills and enhances your customer service skills.

The days were usually hard and long but it was a good team growing experience. Working there made me stronger both physically and mentally and the value of working as a team. Although some co-workers were sometimes hard to deal with it taught me how to be patient and how to cooperate and exceed in stressful situations. The hardest part of the job was teaching myself to be calm and level headed with clients that were sometimes pushy and stressful. The most enjoyable part was working commercial jobs because it gave me access to certain places unavailable to most people and seeing the sets for movies/TV shows was a very fun and rewarding experience.

This position means long hours at work, there is no set time that you finish your day. On a typical day, you would start at 7:30am, and you would prepare your truck for the job that you're doing that day. When you get to your job, you would wrap all the furniture with protective padding, and you would load it onto your truck to either store in your warehouse, or to the customer's new house. Upper management is under appreciative and rarely show appreciate for the hard work of their employees. If you enjoy hard work and long hours, this is the job for you.

I typically work really hard and learn a lot and how the moving industry works. I feel like it is hard to manage and lots needs to be done everyday to keep in order accordingly. My co workers sometimes have issues but I keep quiet and complete the task at hand. I enjoy making the customer happy and make sure everything gets done! Hardest part can be a long day without food and rude co workers or costumers.

Everyone there has substance abuse problems

Show up then do a move then end the day

A typical day starts at 7am and goes to whenever we are finished. Could be done as early as 2pm or as late as 6pm.
Got lots of experience driving the Kitchener/Waterloo and surrounding area.
What I enjoyed the most was the driving and talking with customers building relationships.

Not a place for non-professional people. Major cross country and National Moves. Movers for sports franchise's. I had a blast working there. Worked there for 4 years. Great managers, fun employees...
Lots of heavy lifting.

Small run business that has been around for over 75 years.  Very relaxing atmosphere.  Stressful during moving season.  The hardest part of the job is customer service.  However, that is everywhere you go.
