As other past employees have stated. This is a company that has a track record of poor employee and customer relations. The owner and son micro-manage the company to death from head office in Edmonton. They conspire to restrict the ability of Operation Managers from the satellite offices to perform their duties, by suspicously withholding financial info on the business. And frown on questions about why the numbers don't add up and where money is being allocated. Then blame them when budgets are not met or sales are down. Keeping sales staff on the dark regarding bonuses, along with not providing any training or support on products and personal development is company policy apparently. Internal communication is no existant, leading to the ball being dropped numerous times in regard to sales and customer needs. I some has left the company, you won't be notified and will be left wondering why the individual is not returning yoyr calls!? This has resulted in poorest company culture and morale I have ever seen!

I would advise anyone the steer clear of this company and fime an organization that values you for what you bring to the table.

When I started at Wedtvac they were great. The staff at the Surrey location when I was there were tight knit and all got along well. The owners were quick to point out all the faults even though bringing in new accounts took forever and usually ended up not happening because of inadequate staff. 

They don’t recognize your achievements at all. The commissions your supposed to get are always a hassle.

They brought a new sales manager in to the location who told me that they were looking for a replacement for me. I had never been in trouble, no write ups, or warnings. They conveniently let me go at the busiest time. My commission would have been very large and then they withheld it! 

The owner will lie to save a dollar there was an agreement between us to make a certain number of calls and bring in new accounts which I did and h had the nerve to tell me I hadn’t done it even though I had it all written down but he still withheld it.

I think the shop would run better if the owners let the branches do their jobs without a hassle it would have been great but they can’t even do that.

Father, son and the rest of he family operation. Two standards, them and us. 

Poor pay structure, commissions held up for any reasons they feel. I had to check my commission statement every month, always wrong. 

Got tired of the double standard, the son was always on holidays it seemed. When I wanted to have a few extra days added on to a business trip was told no, but the son took an extra week.

The micro management was always an issue, they are also watching every nickle at a dollars expense. Didn't matter what you did hey had a better/cheaper way to do it.

Do yourself a huge favor and apply else were for a job, the best thing I ever did was move on, just didn't need the stress.

Have worked here for 16 years.  Teamwork Environment - I work with a great team.  We all contribute to the same goal and we motivate each other.  This adds to the company success as well as my personal success.  There is plenty of opportunity for career growth, including skills and management training.  Company offers competitive compensation and great benefits plans.  I have found the leaders to be approachable, confident, fair and effective.  They embrace employees of all experience levels and backgrounds.  They value a diverse team as it brings many perspectives to the workplace.  Overall, great place to work.

I am continuously excited by the challenges that come my way. Each day brings new opportunities to solve problems and push beyond my comfort zone, which I find incredibly rewarding.

The best thing about working at Westvac is the support you will receive. Any question you have about sales, parts, IT, marketing, accounting, mechanics, safety, etc., is always gladly and constructively answered by one of the knowledgeable employees or managers. This has been wonderful for my career and personal growth. The general manager will always make time for you if you have any questions or concerns as well.

Micromanagement, no parts, owners only care about lift division

Boring, monotonous, throw you under the bus to save face

Go to work, have no parts or new work, wash floors

I enjoyed my first year working here but was heavily micromanaged and had no autonomy with the owner. Trust is majorly lacking.
There is a ton of out of town work that is always scheduled at the very last minute which makes it impossible to have plans as a family. 
Management does not fully value their employees and will tell you that everyone is replaceable.

I have been at Westvac Industrial for 9 years now & it’s by far the best place I’ve ever worked at. Everyone here is really great to work with which makes a world of difference in your day. When you do your job well they tell you, showing you are needed & appreciated. They were also very understanding & accommodating when I had some family issues to deal with. It’s a great place to work 👍🏻

Throw a person into the job. Zero training, CRM is outdated and archaic. Nobody assists anyone, keep your head down and try to do the job as best you can. Workplace culture is toxic. Hardest part of the job is using an outdated system with a lot of papers to keep track of. This company is a joke.
