Overall, my experience wasnt too bad, however none of the managers ever really cared about any of your concerns. Alot of the people who work there are extremely two faced. Just alot of gossip and sh1t talk amongst the employees. I would say that it isnt a bad job to start at though, clean environment which is a must for me. However working at apres is terrible. Often you go for hours without any customers which at first might seem good but is actually terrible when you are scheduled for an 8 hr. If you are a soft person however, this probably isnt the job for you. Especially back in the kitchen where the chef ridicules you and verbally abuses you for every small thing you do. What you come to expect with these types of resturants 

I worked weddings/banquets at Westwood for well over a year, and not only are they giving servers crazy long hours and take advantage of an 8 hour clearance between shifts, one thing that was unacceptable was the fact that every wedding/banquet party paid a percentage towards gratuity for the servers and Westwood withheld those from us. When brought up in a staff meeting all they could muster up was that “they’re broke”. Also had an issue with a co worker and when brought up with management they literally did nothing as they were short staffed. 

Manager was verbally abusive to the staff and manipulative. Took concerns to higher management and they did absolutely nothing. Do not work at the restaurants here unless you can handle being yelled at and ridiculed for simply doing your job. Manager would make employees pay for bills that weren’t closed/customers didn’t pay. Even tried to charge customers for hot water and lemon slice. Most staff have complained and for some reason they don’t do anything. Terrible experience.

I love working here. I just wish the job wasn't seasonal and weather dependent. As I get older and take on more responsibility I will need something a bit more reliable. The management are great and the people I work with are fantastic. I have made many new friends while working here.
Getting up here before sunrise on a beautiful sunny summer morning, there is nothing quite like it.

The people that work there as employees are amazing. Everyone was so nice and the team works so well together. But management doesn’t care about anyone, they don’t listen to anything any of their employees say. They never take their employees into consideration and make bad decisions for their employees.

High volume clientele - over 200 people daily/event;
Did not learned much at all - under my qualifications and skills acquired working for high class restaurants;
Poor management - autocratic; rigid; diminishing;
Nice coworkers - dynamic, young people;
Lifting, holding large banquet trays;
Being recognized by former guests.

Overall, Westwood Plateau Golf Course is a shining example of a workplace that recognizes and celebrates its employees' contributions. The positive atmosphere, dedication to customer satisfaction, and commitment to excellence make me proud to be a part of this exceptional team. I would wholeheartedly recommend Westwood Plateau to anyone seeking a rewarding career in the golf industry.

This place needs an entire new slew of management. They treat their employees like absolute garbage due to the high turnover, they don’t take the time to care about their employees. I gave 3 stars because the people I got to work with made it better and the banquet atmosphere can be fun. Would be such an incredible place to work with better managers.

BEFORE YOU WORK HERE!! Keep in mind that the golfcourse is owned by an offshore company that will not invest any money into the course or equipment. You will be stuck with carts that barely work, equipment that's always failing, and customers complaining about the awful condition the course is in. Talk to management about anything and they will tell you they're "thinking about it".

I have been working for a month in the kitchen of Westwood Plateau Golf, Coquitlam, BC. The atmosphere is nice here, everyone is helpful and wants to collaborate with different departments without hesitation. A typical fast-paced environment, so expect to adjust to the working environment as quickly as possible.
