Wheaton was an amazing experience that taught me about sales, how to interact with many different new people, how to thrive in a competitive sales environment and how to earn a strangers trust  in order to earn their business. This job often requires a lot of extra hours. There are set hours you are required to come in at, however your customer may want to come in earlier or later than your shift so I often found myself working open to close, even talking with customers over the phone or email at home and on days off. You do have to work on Saturdays as most customers want to come look at vehicles on the weekends. There is a lot of sacrifice with this job however if you work hard it pays off tremendously. Learning how to guide a client through the second largest purchase of their life in person, over the phone, or online is a skill I wouldn't trade for anything. The skills I learned have made me better in many other fields as well. The culture can seem a little cut throat at times but that is just often how sales is, once I developed a relationship with my co-workers they became dear friends and we often helped each other with customers. I made it a point to change the negative stigma people often have of car sales men by being honest, open and taking into account the needs of each customer. In my opinion the hardest part of the job was cold calling, but it is a big part of the job and management is great at coaching you on how to do it properly. If you are prepared to work hard and make sacrifices this really is an amazing place to work, it i the most honest dealership I have ever been to.

In every department there are good co-workers and bad co-workers, some are friendly some are rude, some are hard workers and some are lazy these two types can be found even among the members in management.

That being said I feel this is the case in most work places, I feel like I got lucky because although my manager wasn't always a treat to work with I can say with confidence that they were definitely one of the good ones at Wheaton Chev, I learned a lot about responsibility and doing a job right while I worked there from them.

The hardest part of the job could change from day to day, sometimes it was the rush of trying to get things done on time, sometimes it was customers or co-workers getting on your nerves and sometimes the hardest part of the day was just getting out of bed in the morning.

The most enjoyable days for me were the ones where everyone just let me do my job, no complaints, no last minute requests, no changes to the workload. Just a nice quiet day where I came to work, did my job and then went home.

On a typical day I would finalize invoices and close them, call customers for book their vehicles in or to book appointments.  I have learn warranty administrative duties and how to deal with upset customers in a variety of ways.  Management was always friendly.  The workplace culture is very well-mannered.  The most enjoyable part of my job was the people I worked with.

Management doesn't ask you to do anything but gets annoyed if you don't do it. They let kids go to work with their parents but there is no child care and then there are children running around the mechanics. Job is secure if you keep your mouth shut around the service manager. If she doesn't like you then you have max a week. The make a lot of promises that they will only follow through on if they HAVE to. Get EVERYTHING in writing.

Getting first chance to see the new cars coming in

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I’d rather not say let’s just say I’m a non-smoker and with the door wide open the smoker smoke comes into the shop

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
For the most part it was very positive

When I worked here everything was really professional. They have lots of long term employees which usually means a company does something right. My only critique is management. Most of management are lazy with high high entitlement. But other than that the people are great 

I worked for Wheaton GM for just over a year. And I did my job well and with enthusiasm...unfortunately this company does not care about their employees they only care about the money and if they think your costing them too much money they will fire you and hire someone who will do your job for less money...

Was a great place to work with good people, everyone got what they needed too efficiently and effectively, fast paced but very easy going.
management always listens to opinions and recommendations.

Management was not able to provide encouragement for a job done well.  They where always looking for fault with your work.  You where never able to meet expectations of the management if you did not fit into the click group 

I believe you have the opportunity to work with the best in the business.  Wheaton group is an excellent family to grow with. Making friends and keeping a great client base...
