Whisperwood Villa

I spent two months working at Whisperwood Villa as a Resident Care Worker while we were temporarily 'home' on PEI. I thoroughly enjoyed the work - the staff and residents were fantastic - and I felt well supported from the day I started. Mandatory training was straightforward (a mix of in person and online training) and an appropriate amount of shifts were assigned for orientation to the area in which I worked. Ultimately I ended up doing full time night shifts and was happy that scheduling were able to accomadate this. I didn't have any trouble getting specific days off as requested (with appropriate notice for the scheduler).

I would highly recommend Whisperwood as a place to work.

The management there try very hard to create a team and family like atmosphere but for some reason it just doesn't quite work. Staff are over worked and under paid. The staff love to create drama,  bicker and complain every chance they get. Management has difficulty making decisions.

The pace can be busy at some time during the day but the staff work well together.  We help each other to keep the residents well cared for and help the families, especially those new to nursing care who sometimes feel overwhelmed.  We have a lot of fun, with other staff and the residents. 
 You hear a lot of laughter if you listen for it.  An the volunteers make it even more special.

Very professional place to work, great management and staff. The work can be very strenuous at times but the staff are all great team  players, it is a pleasure to see the smiling faces of the residence, as then you know it's a job well done.

management very difficult to work with as well as dismination. Clienbts are very nice but treated badly by other employees . I learned never to work at one of these homes again . I have too much empathy and sympathy. you have to be a coldhearted person work at this establishment.

a typical day is very busy and demanding.  I learned that seniors are people and deserve to be treated fairly and need to be treated with kindness and love.  the management needs work, they do not treat employees fairly.  the hardest part of the job is when your resident dies.

I feel so comfortable while working at Whisperwood villa.I have learned so many new new things.I enjoyed to work there as a team member as well as individually.

This is such a wonderful place. The staff are extremely hard workers, and deserve more than what they are recognized for . Their care does not stop after the shift, that is why they are amazing at the job they do

I was employed for 3 years at Whisperwood Villa, enjoyed Everyday going in there! Staff were so friendly and helpful. I moved away 7 months ago..and still have days where my eyes weep, because I miss everyone so much! I LOVED MY JOB!

It is a typical work environment. Things can be disorganized at times but that may just be due to the odd circumstances at the moment. All in all it is a decent place to work, no complaints.
