Management within the division office won't assist or provide proper office training for administrative positions.  Self teaching is expected for all administrative personnel.  HR manager is very unmanageable and demeaning to employees.  All working hours throughout the summer of my last year there, was disregarded, and I wasn't paid or backed by my supervisors.  Rather the division then sent me a bill; so it was a double edge sword as I didn't get paid and I was requested to pay a large sum of money.
Still no support from the management team; disheartening.

It’s fine when boss don’t boss around

working as an EA for this division is very busy day, often working with students one on one (high needs) or with groups of students. EAs are often on supervision at recess. Posistions change year to year - contract runs end of August to end of June, no guarantees of position in the following year. Seniority with union and education dictates if you get a position. Positions can be anywhere from preschool to high school depending on division need and EA preference.

Poor job evaluations and favoritism by some management.  Not valued for the work you do, but rather how the supervisors/management like you.

Several good people have been let go in the name of budget cutbacks; however, management gets annual raises and are not accountable to their staff.  Very much an "old boys" mentality.

Rocky Mountain House provides a very nice place to begin your career in education. There are many job postings and lots of opportunity  to work. It is also a nice community to move with ample affordable housing. There is little that beats the west country in the summer time with lakes, rivers, mountains and camping!

I love this job. I have learned so many things and developed new skills. I love greeting the students every morning to start there day and also at the end of each and every day. Although this job is very very part and I am needing and wanting a full time job to have more stability.

I loved working here but management was difficult and didn't communicate important things properly unless asked or last minute.
There is no job security, unless you are a teacher already, if not, you can and will be replaced.

Flexibility for parents of young children, single parents, people who enjoy working with children. Work two hours in the morning and two hours in the evening and have all day to do everything else.

large company, room to move around to different locations, union protection, building up seniority may take some time if you start out only part time, excellent company if you enjoy working with kids

I enjoy working with this school division very much but I am in need of something more consistent. The fun part of this position is that every time you go into work in can be completely different.
