Willbros Construction

Willbros is a very large American based Company with their main focus being Oil & Gas Pipelining.  Three years ago they expanded their business and incorporated an Electrical and Instrumentation Division where I was employed.   It was a very small office of about 9 people so it was very much like family to me.  Unfortunately with past tragedies in 2014 in Houston, Willbros  was forced to cut cost which including closing down the E&I Division in February 2015.

A typical day at work would be in the field working as labour. Things we did were do all set-up for welders, such as off load pipe onto right away where pipeline was being built. Build skid piles for pipe to sit safely for welders. Off load and load piping materials, work in pipe yard to keep in organized. I had amazing crew we strived to do our best well making sure we were working safely and looking out for one another.

Working for Willbros has always treated me well. They are a pipeline construction company serving the oil and gas industry. I was employed with them on a project based term at Syncrude Canada Ltd. They employ some great people and foster a strong sense of family. 

I really enjoyed the work. My crew and supervisors were great. Everyday is a new experience and I enjoy the challenges. The only part of the job I didn't like was it wasn't a camp job and there wasn't a great selection of hotels or places to rent in the area.

I was only there for 3 weeks. Work was good. Weather was cold. The equipment could be in better shape. I kept my hoe greased and clean. Unfortunetaly other operators did not respect the hoe.

IT was a great experience working with all the trades to ensure a safe work place. And the most satisfying part of the whole project is that we sent everyone home in the same condition as they arrived.

Was always given the guidance and knowledge needed to excel in the trade. Great company to be a part of. The moral of the people working there is absolutely fantastic. Recommend the company for anyone.

Very good management and excellent communication with  there employees. Equipment is very good and well maintained. Employees and management have very good working relationship, Also Willbros safe culture is second to none.

Management trusts their employees and is very understanding with any development required. The schedule is great and the people are the best. Pay is reasonable and benefits are reasonable.

Everyday was something new and have learned a lot from my experience there but i am looking for a job with some more job security.
