Have over 42 years experience in this field, I have been with this company for over 22 years with 2 previous engineering firms, They are the best of the 3 companies.

I have worked very hard for them, traveled extensively for them through out Canada, They have treated my extremely well, I still work almost full time in summer and spend 4 months in Arizona working on line a fee hours a day.

We have sold out home and have a summer place in Gunn Alberta. The place is not winterized,but we are not ready to spend 6 months down south yet, so looking for a FURNISHED house or apartment.in or around edmnoton.

It is clear that senior leadership has their favorites and are quick to throw people under the bus. 

There is no direction from managers, team leads or senior leadership. The couple managers who are competent have no backup from leadership team.

The company is like a revolving door, and remaining engineers are forced to undertake responsibility of bad engineering design left by their counterparts and there is no rush to fill open positions, which makes whoever remains work even harder.

Upper management: Do better

Great workplace for engineers, although they seemed to struggle with work/life balance. As Administrative staff, we felt needed and valued for what we could do, while also being regularly reminded of our low billing rate.  Appreciation depended on which engineer was being served, but most were thankful.  Was a family run business, but due to two tragedies, became run by others.  The loss of the family feel is also part of the tragedy.

Building mechanical system design.

Project budget and management.

Tight timeline and short budget. No comment.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Short meeting, and looking for work to do.

It was a fairly nice group to work with.
There was an uneven project load. There was a large turnover of employees. Lots of resignations and hires. They were taken over by a larger company after I left.

You can tell that this company is managed exceedingly well, and is filled with employees who are treated with respect (and treat each other with respect). The upper management listens to the concerns of the employees, and takes actions to implement suggestions. A lot of flexibility in terms of working location and hours, too.

Management has changed and the company culture isn't there anymore.  Very high emphasis on bus.dev. but none on project delivery.  High turnover and no growth.

Williams Engineering Canada is a good employer. They provide a welcoming, family like atmosphere. They offer good benefits with competitive wages. They do a good job of providing training and an opportunity to continuously learn.

Every office is different but there's a big turn over on PA's . You do so much  but are paid so little. It was weird to weird forms company that did not like their
