This is a very good job but not for me at this time as I’m 18 and play hockey and the job is physically demanding which I like because it will keep you in shape but I also have team practices and workouts that are mandatory and doing both is making me really sore and to tired that’s why I’m looking for another job that I will be able to handle much better.

i use to work at windsor disposial service and i quit because of the supervisor. you work 6 days a week and will have no life if you do recycle. Their recycle trucks break down all the time and is extremely hard on your body, joints, etc. They dont pay OT until 55 hours and make you work alone (recycle) all the time in over 100 degree heat with out giving water to the drivers

If you are looking to get in this field go and apply for their competitor, GFL.. WDS doesn't pay OT until 55 hours. Most of the time it will be a 6 hour work week. GFL works 4 days a week with OT. How do they get away with it? Classify you as an on the road truck driver. ALL the drivers who left to go to GFL are extremely happy. The difference of being treated the right way.

Too many hours 6 days a week. Won't let you take vacation for over a year. Expect you to work yourself past your limits. management is very pushy and doesn't have a care for your mental health.

A typical day starts early, you wait in the brake room till you find out what area you are working in, brake times are nice and steady. The work it's self is fast and the hardest part of this job is when there is nothing to do.

Very time consuming, frustrating schedule, you never know when you are done.  Management changes the policies or are not aware of them because they do not last working there.  People are always not showing up because they need time off and its better than being late.  Seniority does not count.

A typical day at work is a guessing game depending on how many people call in sick on a daily basis. Work could be a 7 hour day or a 14 hour day. If there were more workers and less of a demanding workload it would be a more manageable job

Good group of guys.
The hours can be long.
Physically demanding.
Management is trying hard to fix the issues with the company.
I feel when they get the new trucks on recycle the company will have a easier time finding workers and keeping them.

Family style culture, able to view issues & concerns with quick & collaborative solutions by management. Very flexible & family culture allows a closer bond with fellow employees.

This is good place to make good money, physically demanding, but co-workers make the day a little less gruelling. Benefits are quite good and you can make a good enough living that you can pay bills.
