Having been in technical sales for more than 20 years, I thought I had experienced all types of companies. WRONG. Winters took it to the next level in regards to challenging me right from day one.  Not only is my input asked for, it's discussed at senior levels and feedback is consistently requested.  Instead of looking for a customer to sell to, I was looking for customers to partner with and develop.  Prospecting, development, discussions, planning, proposals, negotiations, execution - it's all there for the sales professional.  It truly is a nirvana of activity for a sales person.  The personalities that I work with are varied, but they are all focused on one thing - the customer experience (wow!) and continued pursuit of excellence.  Not only have I found a place where I can learn and grow, but I've discovered brothers and sisters that are willing to help, listen and encourage.

Winters Instruments is one of Canadas Best Managed Companies again!  We have won this award 5 years in a row and pride ourselves on receiving this distinguished award.  Winters goes above and beyond for their employees and employees do the same for Winters.  Company culture is important because it is the very foundation of every organization; strong culture is an acknowledgment that people are the most critical asset a company holds and that protecting its people is the surest way to continued success.  Winters continuously holds Social events, Training Events, etc. all the time.  Happiness is the key to holding onto great employees.

I worked here many years ago now so it may have changed. The pay is low for everyone but the owner makes sure to drive his luxury car to work. They questioned legitimate sick days and generally treat people poorly. The tasks I had were very mind numbing and moving up was not an attractive option either. There were some great/nice staff there to work with but one in particular had extreme anger issues which made the day to day super uncomfortable.  Again it's been many years so take it with a grain of salt. Just be cautious when interviewing to make sure you know what you are getting into and are that you are going to get paid fairly. 

Worst place I have ever worked in my entire life. I wasn't given the proper tools to train and learn the role, the sales staff pretty much refused to help if you had a question and they said they were always too busy if you needed assistance or had a question, zero support, training was not thorough, if you get on someone's bad side, your job is toast. Was told to never be away from your desk because the CEO doesn't like seeing a black screen on your computer. Stay far away from this place.

This is the worst job experience I’ve ever had. Low salaries, no training, offices always dirty. Long hours and you’re always overload with work; if you ask for help/support nobody is going to listen to you even when they know there’s something wrong. You need to accomplish what they ask even if it’s unrealistic if not, be prepared to have a harsh time or be fired.
Still wondering why they said it’s one of Canada’s best places to work if it’s not true. Stay away..!


The workplace culture is great!  There is time spent making sure employees day to day experience is the best it can be by providing snacks, coffee/tea, etc. and the office socials are always a blast. 

Everyone is very friendly and always make time to help you when you are in need. There are great weekly training and development opportunities available to all employees.

Overall a great place to work!

Winters is not a typical company.  Management is close to their employees, listens and encourages them to fulfill their full potential.  There are no over inflated egos and the team comradery is amazing.  Very flexible on many aspects.  Workload can be daunting at times, but wouldn't have it any other way.  By far the best company I have worked for.

Winters does a great job of finding and keeping strong, professional people.  
The culture is one of collaboration and teamwork where it is possible to both work hard and have fun.
Salary and benefits are very competitive.  There are various barbecues, game days and other fun team building activities.  Some flex WFH opportunities are a definite plus.
