I really loved working with all the residents at the nursing home but did not like that we worked short everyday. My co-workers were the best, I made many friends and always got along well with them. I am the type of person who will act a bit silly ( to cheer up my residents) and everyone loved me.

I got to learn many new things, really opens your eyes when you work with seniors. I miss them all. My daughter use to love coming to the home to see the residents, they loved her and she loved them.

The most enjoyable part of my job was seeing the smiles on the residents face, helping them when ever they need to be helped. I treated them all as if they were my own grandparents, with love & respect.

A typical day at work would include getting residents up in the morning or putting the residents to bed at night. Assisting with daily cares of living such as feeding, bathing, grooming and social activities.

One of the positive things I learned was how to over com obstacles personally and professionally.

One of the most stressful things is dealing with people with Alzheimer's and dementia disease, which can be the hardest part of the job I found at times.

If finding a rewarding career is what you are looking for here, please save yourself the time, frustration and heartbreak. Frustration, because you will be treated with the most disrespect any workplace can dish out. Heartbreak, because no living being should ever receive this kind of neglect…residents are treated like inanimate objects. Not human beings. Please don’t ever place your loved ones here. As an employee you will in no time burn yourself out trying to make a difference, and you will leave work every day feeling heartbroken 

Poor management overall in Nursing Department. The workplace is consistently short-staffed, which creates unnecessary stress for employees. There is unfair treatment and clear favoritism, and management often acts unprofessionally. Policies are not followed or applied consistently, which leads to confusion and frustration among staff.

Loved the residents and most of the staff.  The job description was confusing. In the past I have only done residential care, and not scrub floors, and clean toilets. That was a deal breaker for me.  I liked everything else about the job. Assisting clients. Management were often rude to residents. I’d never give them my money.  Their reputation is a poor one in the community. 

Hard work, and  very fast paced but extremely  satisfying. Caring for people who are unable to care for themselves 
In my opinion there should be provision for extra workers for the first half of the day shift, and the last half of the evening shift

Its a fast pace work environment.

Not s hood place to work. Ccas treated unfairly. Too many lies and very unprofessional. Over worked understaffed. Residents are not happy. Too much back bitting
