My experience at this company was disappointing due to several key issues that made it a difficult place to work long-term.

Management lacks organization and clear direction, which affects daily operations across multiple departments. Sales managers and HR often step into roles outside their scope without a full understanding of the responsibilities involved, which leads to confusion and disrupted workflows for office staff.

The workplace culture needs serious improvement. While every environment has its challenges, I witnessed behaviour from leadership that felt unprofessional and, at times, inappropriate. There was a particular instance where a manager created internal jokes targeting specific employees that were shared company-wide through distributing graphics and stickers in a way that crossed the line. This type of behaviour contributed to an environment that often felt disrespectful and unwelcoming.

Employees are frequently expected to take on responsibilities well beyond their roles, often without additional compensation or support. Despite being hired for a standard 40-hour workweek, the reality is a workload that can feel like two jobs. Long hours, skipped breaks, and the expectation to be available after hours were common.

Training and onboarding are minimal. New hires are typically left to figure things out on their own, and rather than constructive feedback, mistakes are often met with public criticism. The management style leans heavily on pressure rather than support, which creates a tense atmosphere for many employees.

Opportunities for advancement are limited, and recognition tends to be influenced by internal connections rather than merit. This fosters a culture where favouritism is noticeable, and it can feel discouraging for those putting in genuine effort.

The systems and tools used are outdated, making daily tasks more difficult than they need to be. Communication is inconsistent and often last-minute, which contributes to ongoing operational issues and unnecessary stress.

Benefits are basic and not particularly competitive. There is no structured path for raises or long-term growth, which likely contributes to the high turnover rate—many employees don’t stay more than a few months.

Overall, this is not a company I would recommend to someone looking for a positive, growth-focused, or professional work environment. I hope leadership takes the necessary steps to improve culture, communication, and support for their staff moving forward.

The dealership is beautiful and big and modern, but the employees are not happy. Employee morale is low across almost every department, the only people who seem happy are the super long term staff who have been working together for years, and it’s hard to break into the group. This company needs to work on being transparent with their employees, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t know what your what your pay is going to be. Hours are awful and they clearly do not care about their staff. Saturday’s are long days and they don’t give you any breaks as they supply food which you can eat at your desk, which keep in mind, Saturday is a full 8-9 hour day, pretty sure that goes against labour laws. Everyone seems burnt out at this dealership and it makes for an unhappy work place. I never felt i was part of a team here and i wouldn’t come back. HR is good and helpful, but i think they are limited to what they can do. Benefits are on par with other dealerships

There is alot of work to do, very busy shop. The culture in the shop is great.

The management, the pay rate and the constant struggle with the parts department

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Absolutely hilarious, lots of fun to be had in the shop 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Come into work, pull a good job only to lose money waiting for parts. Have to work on multiple cars at once

I liked the wider range of hours, the shop guys. i learned a lot, nothing from what they taught me but from having to learn on my own because no one would teach me. management was terrible, other departments were terrible,they had no accountability, communication or knowledge about what was going on. only the guys in the shop who had something to loose were good and had knowledge and experiance. they took all the responsibility and blame.

Poorly managed, full of people high on themselves, HR does nothing, zero communication between departments, managers have no idea how to actually manage, sales even refuses to use their own service department, senior staff uses fear and intimidation tactics to get what they want, I’ve seen so many women leave crying because of the horrible treatment from coworkers, the list goes on. 

was  a totally awesome places to work for. good employers would also recommend anyone in that field to try to apply to them. If they call me to work there again. I would drop what i was doing to move back there and work for them in heart beat .

Really enjoy my time here. I couldn't do the commission sales and the ups and downs of the market and not knowing how much or little I was going to get paid. It made it really hard to budget my life properly. Very supportive management team. And was always willing to help in any way they could.

Fast paced environment and one of the busiest Ford stores in Alberta. This is the true #1 Ford store as they repeatedly post Sales Gains year to year to be #3 in Canada.

Woodridge Ford was a great place to work. I enjoyed the people mostly; it was like a family environment and everyone was wonderful to work with. Though it is a very busy environment they always had fun events going on.

👍Fast pace, lots of energy!    Big dealership so lots of inventory, both new and used.  Sales guys are great and seem to work well together.  Management are there to help, you have the tools to succeed for sure.
