A typical day at WPO involves managing 9 to 14 back-to-back clinical calls, each lasting around an hour. This high-volume structure leaves little space for meaningful therapeutic work or the development of clinical skills.

Team leads (often acting as managers) tend to prioritize performance metrics over team support. The workplace culture leans heavily toward micromanagement, with noticeable hierarchical dynamics that may not align with the collaborative, ethically grounded environment typically encouraged in mental health settings—especially within the framework of the Canadian Code of Ethics for psychologists.

For recent graduates awaiting licensure, this role may not provide the supportive, hands-on clinical experience you’re hoping for. The pace and workload can contribute to burnout quickly, and recognition for hard work is often limited.

Although the role is described as clinical counselling, the daily responsibilities are more aligned with a call center model—rapid, solution-focused responses with limited therapeutic depth. If you’re looking for clinical growth and reflective practice, this may not be the ideal fit. However, if you're comfortable working under pressure in a performance-based setting, it may suit your preferences.




Micromanagement. You will hear empty promisses, but there is no career advancement. There is lack of communication, management is all over the place and disorganized. They say their moto is "we help people" but the truth is they don't treat employees as people. High turnover. Save yourself the trouble and work in a better place. As other reviews stated, HR is in the USA and has no idea about Canadian regulations. They will cause you lots of troubles if you need HR assistance. 

Great support. If you work hard for the clients,are positive, dedicated and  diligent, the staff really support you. I  find that if an issue comes up with a client ,for example, the provider can explain their standpoint, and be believed

Very disorganized workplace.

WPO provides a great work environment and opportunities to grow as a counselor. The company is growing, and there are tons of opportunities to develop your skills as a counselor and grow within the organization. 

Great management and company culture! Call center set up, however very welcoming environment and an emphasis on employee self-care and wellness!

Great team of supportive colleagues that help and guide you.  They treat their employees and clients with respect - want long term relationships.  Workplace Options' mission statement is "We Help" and they really do...from their employees, to their clients and even help those who are not their clients.  They endeavor to do what is morally right.

Great place to work with opportunity to help people from all over the world.  Management is supportive and available.  Staff have given lots of opportunity to learn and grown, and input and opinion has always been taken into consideration.

This place pressure you to work and if you fall behind, it thinks of you as statistics. I would not recommend someone to work there. The number of calls are stressful with less people to take care of calls. It is not a nice place to work.

I am a clinical counsellor and I really enjoy working at Workplace Options. This job allows me to provide telephonic support to individual across the globe. The management team and employees are very professional and supportive. Also, the company provides opportunities for growth.
