I love the job.   The training is thorough and management is kind and  helpful.  Once I got my bus, I pretty much run my route. Which means: getting to bed on time, up at the crack of dawn to inspect my bus.  Ensuring that my bus starts ( cold weather) and my lights are all working, brakes, fluids etc. Being punctual is my job.  Those little kids are standing outside waiting for ME.  Dispatch is just a radio call away. They know where I am at all times and I hear the communications of other drivers.  It’s respectful, informative and  sometimes a little funny.  When I’m driving I really feel like part of a team.  My daughter trained at the same time and is driving as well.   I’m thinking about the route and the kids and the bus the entire trip. Absolute Fun!   Can’t wait for the bus rodeo!

I was looking for a career that would be secure, allow me freedom and extra home time during the day. I found it here. 

I had never driven a bus before but since I love driving and having a non office job I thought it would be a great fit. I was right. 

All my training was provided with great instructors who were patient, knowledgeable and friendly. They supported me the whole way from day one till the day I passed my MTO drive test. 

Driving is the easy part, this job has its own challenges every day. Other drivers and passengers who can be a bit rowdy. However I have found that management and other drivers and even parents are quick to help and give you advice. 

I am enjoying my new career and can't wait to see where it leads.

A typical day starts early, between 5:00 & 5:15, some runs leave before 7:00. Before we are ready to leave a circle check must be completed on the bus, every day it is in service. Make sure bus is clean  inside & make sure all lights at back are clean as well. 
Our management team is always there for us.
The workplace is a friendly environment, it is more like a family & is family operated.
The hardest part of the job is not having enough time at home to complete large tasks. This is due to the fact that the majority of the runs are now double.
And of course the best part of the job is our little darlings!!!!!

I feel that I am paid as fairly as Wubs is capable of.  Bus drivers in general are grossly underpaid for the responsibilities that go with the job.
Wubs is a great company to work for - feels like a family.
Some of the difficult parts of the job are: poor driving conditions, elementary students that constantly need to be reminded to sit down, trying to get the timing just right.
The best parts are: getting to know the students, having them wish me a good day in return, watching four siblings race to the bus to see who will be on first!  And I enjoy driving the beast!

I absolutely love being a bus driver, and driving for Wubs makes it all the better. 
They care about their employees as well as their families. Being a family owned business,  they absolutely appreciate the value of family.

I find that the scheduling is erratic. Many errors. Constant changes with no regard to your personal life. People are nice but they seem to have favourites and give the better charters to drivers they like personally. Not a fair system.

Getting up early, pre-tripping your bus, picking up your students completing route and dropping them off.   I’ve learned Patience and understanding while dealing with children.  I find that their doing an exceptional job with the amount of people that call in everyday.  The best part of the job is seeing the smiling faces.
