Enjoyed working for 30 years advancing through hard work. Started as a custodian for 3 years and applied for the position of mail clerk. Worked 3 years in the mail room and then applied for work in the purchasing department doing data entry. All and all I was apply to fill many positions until finally IT. The board offers many in in-house classes such as Microsoft office and other board applications. Many opportunities, people are friendly and professional.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Teaching in various communities/work hours between 7:30 to 4:00

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
They are not fair in hiring process,   and offer the job first to their friends and family or favourites. Some races win over the others!!!!
They advertise inclusivity and equity/equality while it’s just advertising and in real scenarios, something else happens behind the curtain!

Bullying is grotesque in this organization and when it’s brought forward nothing is done about it. It’s still the old boys club and it’s not progressive at all. Organization lacks TRUE diversity. Diversity there means keep your religion/culture to yourself and be seen and not heard. And inquiry needs to be made into YRDSB, just look at the turn around. 

I enjoyed and learned a lot working on this position. Management was great made me learned and work independently, everyone was very cooperative. Dealing with the parents is my favorite part made me close to the community.

If you're in a non-union or higher-grade position, you'll be fine. Some of the lower-grade, union positions are in great need of re-assessment and pay is below normal. 

Otherwise, work environment is generally good. Some facilities are better than others. New director is taking strides to make improvements where needed.

This job involves working with a great number of people (at least 150) from different cultures, backgrounds, ages. You are constantly in working mode, stressful yet fun with great learning opportunities.

This is part time job,  2 classes/week, I am very enjoy teaching student Mandarin language , I like school environment, I try my best let students interest it and make a lot of fun for them.

People there are very friendly at Boxwood Public School. Its very evident how hard much effort they put into the kids. Great education centre.  Would definitely recommend applying for a job there even as a tutor if you are good at science, math, french, etc and working with kids.

My day begins at 8 am.  I teach grades 6-8.  I am a member of the intermediate teacher department and work with numerous people at my school.  The most difficult part of my job is keeping up with the paperwork.  The part most enjoyable is the children.

Solid place to work.  Job security. Unionized.  Staff are easy to get along with.  Sometimes management is hard to understand.  Lots of room for advancement.  And several areas to be interested in.
