This review is written as unbias as possible for someone currently working within the company and should be taken as so. 

As the title explains it is a new company with plenty of growing pains. Friendly coworkers, knowledgable, supportive, hard working but quick to anger and feeling unappreciated, and unsupportive when management and/or corprate are not immediately responsive. A further understanding, patience, and knowledge is needed. This is a new industry not even two years old, with lots of red tape and unknowns to go through. In my opinion no one can say they are an expert in this industry, especially when majority of people started the same time and everything is still in flux. One reason why I remain working for Sweet Tree.

Though that doesn't get management/corporate off the hook. Plenty of wasted chances in the last year for them to take care of and help their staff. But instead it was silence, for the outskirt stores the common response was "You didn't reach out, so we thought things were fine". No forward thought, appreciation, or forward growth options provided for all staff. They don't grow the weed so their focus should be growing their employees. Show the appreciation for the frontline staff who were deemed essential workers and continued to ensure the stores remained open and making the all mighty dollar.

As of today, September 30, 2020, some forward movement in the right way has begun. Hopefully the continued cry out of the frontline staff will be listened too and the appreciation and growth many crave will arrive. 


YSS/Sweet Tree is the quintessential cannabis company. It is leaderless, with Management at all levels competing for the next worse decision, that they will inevitably implement as policy. It is a bunch of children who are driving yet another viable cannabis business into the ground. Treatment of employees is dismal, there are no legitimate reporting chains or oversight of their managers. And clearly the next company on the chopping block for unethical behavior, another publicly traded disaster in the cannabis industry.
     If working for a company where common sense, investment in proper infrastructure, store support, employee support or a simple peaceful workplace are things you are interested in, do not consider this company. It will destroy your soul, and challenge all that you thought were basic intelligence and ethical decency.

A company that wastes money on inferior product yet can't spend a dime more than absolutely necessary on employees. They promise room for growth and advancement yet will take advantage of any extra initiative you show with zero additional compensation.  Policies constantly change and often held to double standards. Management is allowed to grow toxic/incompetent and not supervised by corporate. Pay is stagnant and reviews absent past 3 months.

Nice clean place to work. Manager cares about staff's personal needs and will accommodate time if emergencies come up. Shes right in the thick of it with the employees and never expects   us to do anything she wouldn't do.  All in all a great place to work, my favourite job I've had so far. Being part of the original crew that got this location set up has also given me a sense of pride in our location's ability to serve our customers accurately and in a timely manner.

It had some good learning opportunities, but also had some challenges as some of the management /executive might have been punching out of their weight class. Unfortunately, the company was bleeding at quite a high level  which resulted in a significant layoff of full time personnel (managers/executive). It has since been sold to Alcanna and now is running under the Value Buds banner.

Horrible! Do not waste your time, if You love giving all your time and dedication and getting nothing out of it. This is your job! 
Worked as an Assistant Manager and Acting Manager for Several months and not being properly compensated. They love using you, and taking advantage of their employees. 
Head office is not approachable and help whoever they chose to. when you question them they don’t know how to deal with issues at hand.

Literally the most toxic place I have ever worked. Staff in the Vermilion location (except one employee) bullied me. Literally pushed me out. And the one employee who was nice is under so much pressure from everyone else and everyone talks bad about her. WORST JOB EVER SO TOXIC NO WORK LIFE BALANCE NOT GOOD PAY EVERYONE IS SO RUDE. 

I learned a lot working for Yss! Information was easy to get and everyone helps each other. Definitely a great team! Made great friends along the way. Management is good and is very easy to get ahold of and communicate to. We have an awesome manager and a great boss. Its also a very comfortable and friendly work environment! 

The Spruce Grove location is a nice little shop with a friendly and knowledgable manager. As an employee I was treated with respect and allowed to learn at my own pace. Any issues I had were  recieved with understanding and sorted out promptly.
Customers commented a lot on how clean the store is and how helpfull/friendly the staff are.

It's an awesome place to work and very happy to be an assistant manager here and is a quick place to grow and we do have awesome training. Management has improved greatly and we have awesome training programs set up for those who need it and also mandatory 🙂
