If only the owners would empower there staff to do their jobs properly, they have a strangle hold on the staff and micro-manage every aspect of there company.  No reviews, no raises, no feedback, very unorganized company.  Many mistakes done by many people, mishandling of kickbacks to production staff.  And they pay 25% below average, that's why they hire foreigners on work terms.  Treat staff as disposable employees.   The dishwasher makes more kick back then the production staff.  Stay away from this employer.

If you're a server, it's everything you would expect from a serving job.  Busy, fast-paced, tips.  Management tries their best but sometimes the rules are downright ridiculous. The owner thinks they're entitled to 2% of your debit/credit tips and there's nothing you can do to avoid paying it (management will dock you in future tips owed). Staff are fun to work with

Toxic management added to the stress of the workplace. Co-workers were not team players. They would constantly talk behind your back and were very rude. You work extremely long hours with no breaks; you're lucky if you get a bathroom break in an 8 hour shift. The restaurant was also very short-staffed so serving 10-15 tables at the same time with no help was normalized.

My experience at yellowbelly was extremely valuable. I learned how to work with others under pressure while still providing excellent service.
The most difficult part of the job was multi-tasking during the restaurants' busiest hours.
I enjoyed working with a large staff and conversing with customers. The job required excellent social skills and determination.

Work can be very tiring, as it involves a LOT of heavy lifting, and you are expected to juggle a lot of responsibilities on your own in a very stressful environment, all while retaining your cool.

management and everything else along with that needs a lot of work with communication and balancing schedules. the owners tend to get ahead of themselves.

Stressful job with 3+ floors depending if there's an event upstairs. Poor team culture but typical to the service industry where people smoke/drink party their tips away. Overall no I wouldn't work here for more than 6 months

The people and management are great to work with and for.

A general day involves getting the restaurant ready by making sure that everything is stocked and then serve people food and drinks in a timely fashion.

I got first job in Canada from yellow belly and I miss all the time. New place and new job every thing new for me but I don’t feel like new because all staff are like family members .
