Unless you’re just getting into this field or you’re 18-19 and want to gain some experience, RUN. Management, especially the supervisors are the worst. They have no respect for you whatsoever. For the split shift you get paid for 5 hours but work 6+ hours. Every thing is documented on paper - so you need to drive up to the main office every week to drop off and collect paperwork and attendances. We need to hunt down families for SIGNATURES for PA days and collect money ourselves for the following school year. They expect us to use the ELECT document for program planning but do not provide any material. You have to use your own money on material to run program for your room kids. If you are unwell or have an emergency you need to call in TWO hours before your 7 am shift. Supervisors ask you not to call them from 9pm - 5am. If they do not answer, you need to go into work even if you’re dying. They never have any staff to cover you. Supervisors sit around gossip about their teams personal lives outside of company time. If a mistake is made- oh here comes a new policy and its put on blast for everyone to gossip about. If it weren’t for the kids or the families- this place will mentally drive you INSANE. RUN!!!!!!!  THIS IS FOR BARRIE AND SURROUNDING SCHOOLS. 

If you have drive and passion for this type of educational environment then you will have a rewarding experience. However if you're partnered up with an ECE who has no drive, incentive or motivation then it can be challenging. You get what you put in if I'm being honest. Management is incredibly encouraging, supportive and takes care of their employees. There is blatant favoritism for people who "play the game". Some supervisors seem easily manipulated. The children are amazing and parents are fantastic. Overall if you're passionate, dedicated and a creative employee you'll be very happy working here. Stay away from the gossip and workplace nonsense if you hope to maintain that happiness. 

like everyone says, it's only good for the pay and the kids. There's zero room for moving up, or schedule flexibility. 

The place is very toxic and there is nothing to be done about it. 

Your reputation doesn't matter, someone will likely drag it through the mud regardless of who you are and what you do.

You'll feel like just a number and not a valued staff, because that's  how they treat you. Be a body for ratio - what you bring to the table doesn't matter.  Do not give your all for this place, there's no reward for going above and beyond, it gets you nowhere. 

You would think there'd be more humanity in a job  with children, but there is not. Do not let them sugarcoat the issues. I was warned not to work here and I did not listen. Run. please.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Being outside,  one with nature, rain or shine. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
High stress, underagers, special needs, high expectations 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
While I was there, a huge turnover of staff occurred. Both managerial and front-line workers. Children were shuffl d around from room to room as always understaffed. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Very demanding above and beyond other centers I have worked. No down time to get programming and documentation done.

It was a great place to work at first and they make you feel very special. I had to take a medical leave. My contract came up just as I was coming up to my contract ending. I had been with the company for over a year and a half. They refused to renew my contract due to my medical leave. Then I tried to get the stuff I had at the center and they wouldn't respond and I never got my stuff back and I had sorel boots and columbia snowpants, which aren't cheap. It really upset 😡 me. 

Great days spent with kids indoors and outdoors. Learned that I have a lot of patience and imagination. Never ever see management until annual meetings and other providers you see at workshops. Hardest part of job is when the time comes to say good bye to the children leaving care for school and most enjoyable part is seeing your kids in your care enjoying themselves.

They pay very well which is a bonus but the culture is not supportive advancement not easy.  Culture is toxic most times and care more about appearances than what is really happening within the classroom.  Management is lacking in all areas and communication is the worst I’ve ever seen.  

Coworker always reporting about each other like you working for CIA. The superviser didnt care about you just only cares about paper work. 

I always feel unsecure and stress most of the time.working with kids and family was fun and a lot of expérience.

Management was not great. You aren’t treated well. Supervisors don’t seem to care about you or your health especially not mental health. Not supported when asked for support in assisting with a difficult child/children. Supervisor is not empathic. Honestly don’t waste your time with this company

The pay is competetive, but the work environment is toxic. 

Management team has unrealistic expectations  and place alot of pressure on staff. 

Management needs to understand that all children in preschool are all at different stages.  There shouldn't be a designated time period where staff are required to take the children out.
