This online University is a very poor place to work due to the management's attitude about it's workers and students. They are in this "business" of education not to help educate and prepare people for careers, but to meet the basic minimum requirements to be able to operate as a for profit private university. Money is the bottom line, not ethics. Yorkville is often jokingly called "Last chance U" because they will accept just about anyone as long as they pay the high tuition fees. 

The turn over is very high and they will argue that they always are advertising for job openings because they are expanding, but what they do is replace workers to keep everyone on their toes and suspicious of each other and use employees fear of losing their jobs to overwork the staff and encourage them to distrust each other and compete with each other. 

Abusive company who uses expensive lawyers to pay their way out of employee complaints or students who complain about the program. They are ruthless. Students or job seekers are better off loosing elsewhere or they will be left disappointed.

This ID program is run by unqualified educators who do not know the difference between teaching online vs. face-to-face. The dean of the program in Concord is micro dictator with no clue about Interior Design Profession or Education. She's in constant conflict with the program chairs and part-time faculty. From 2017-2019 two program chairs were either forced to resign or fired! Currently, there is an advertisement for a new chair! Three chairs in less than two years!! Suggestions for improving the curriculum are ignored and rediculed. Opposing the Dean's opinion is a catastrophic mistake. Teaching load and pedagogy are not bassed on needs assessment or client's life commitments or socioeconomic cicustances

Working as an admission advisor the MACP role, what was written on the position listing and told to me in the interview was very different than what I ended up doing. The role is all about hitting a sales goal, which is having a specific number of people be accepted into the department. We were expected to cold call people up to 8-10 times if they did not respond to us, and to call every week to ask for updates if they did pick up the phone to talk. The would track the amount of calls we made in a day and what times we were calling people. If you did not reach the admission target they gave you then you were placed on a PIP. 
You at least get commission on the amount of people you get accepted though.  

There is a lack of trust as management says all the right things but does not act on it. 

Poor management causes employees to quit by a high-stress environment and poor training. 

Management is not willing to increase the salary of the employees and would rather let them go than increase the pay. NO professional growth in the company, management is not letting you grow within a company. 

The company doesn't have an annual performance review - employees don't have a chance to negotiate their salary or any kind of working conditions. (tricky contract - be careful, nothing can be changed after singing it) You can get an extra week of vacation only after 5 years of working within a company - rediculous 



As a seasoned employee, I've observed significant leadership transitions within our company over the past two years, particularly following its acquisition by a private equity firm. The influx of new leaders from the firm's other portfolio companies, many of which have undergone changes in ownership, has resulted in interpersonal conflicts and power struggles, contributing to a toxic work culture. The academic leadership team, unfortunately, seems more symbolic than influential, lacking the authority to enact meaningful changes. While it may not be an ideal environment for professional growth, it does offer valuable insights into navigating workplace politics and presents opportunities for learning.

I work remotely so I don't have personal contact with the "work environment" but email contact from supervisors and available online information are both helpful

I work independently, reading and responding to student posts and grading occasional papers and projects

Unprofessional and commercial oriented place. University president is a low quality leader

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Teaching a class full of students most of them don't speak or understand English. Most of the students coming from one region in one country.

I worked in IT department (which we were just 2 coworkers!). I can say I worked very hard for them and they used me to do lots of projects with minimum range of salary.IT manager is a very young aggressive guy without any knowledge of programming which even he doesn't know about the logic of projects that he gives!,Definitely not recommended for workplace and I suggest to take your knowledge somewhere that can help you grow and gain more programming knowledge.
