I used to really enjoy doing this work and felt proud of the company I work for. But in the last year this company has cut back on everything field related to support the cost of its new location and staff. Field workers are constantly pressured to finish jobs on time without all the tools or equipment required to do so. The reason given is always... the price of oil has gone down... or the economy isn't doing well right now we need to cut back cost. If you question or complain you will just simply be replaced. 

I enjoy the people I work with everyday. They are a great team. I just wish management could value thier veteran workers more or they will all begin to leave, taking thier knowledge and hard work with them. Experience is important when working in these hazardous conditions and in mentoring green hands.(60%-75% of workers on a job are new to this field)

As Young EnergyServe continues to grow and expand, They develop motivated, dedicated and skilled individuals with industry experience, training and feedback. Their main office is based out of Calgary although I lived outside Alberta travel to and from the job site was easy. This position does require travel throughout Western Canada in order to meet the needs of our clients and the company provides hotel accommodations. Young EnergyServe offers health and dental benefits after 300 hours and there is definite opportunity for career advancement with this company.

You are not guaranteed jobs, you may work one job and never get called back or you might work all season. You might work half the season. The people you work with for the most part are decent. They will keep you on the hook so your ready to go to work. When it boils down to it they don't care about you. Most supervisors are pretty good to work for. Tips if they give you work, always keep your door open for more solid work. There is 100 people on call just for your position. You might not complete jobs, so they will tell you 1 month of work and you might get sent home on first crew when they are told to downsize closer to the job being finished. 

Working for this company has given me experience in all aspects of  with a high end understanding of confined space work,
 Knowledge on how to work safe in a dangerous environment,
 Company provides per job bases work with little advancement, 
 People interaction was good,
 There was little communication within the divisions,
Problem solving was almost impossible with no significant support.

Reading through the five star comments and all I want to say is what a load of. 
The company does have incredible field staff- at least the ones who are trained properly and not high or drunk when they show up to work- if they show up to work. 
The office management has absolutely awful communication with the shop and the field staff. They are completely unprofessional and can be down right rude. 
There is more back stabbing and talking behind people’s back then you would of seen in a bunch of junior high girls. 
They are single handedly bringing what used to be a good company down themselves.

DO not upset HR, name gets removed from call list. Work in field is very fun, done safely and pay is not bad. Office staff is very unprofessional, No schedule at all for work. It can lead to sitting for months, with HR repeatedly telling you there will be work next week. Learned a lot of great things working for them but dealing with main office is not worth it. Has to have the lowest Subsistence in the industry for working out of town. Benefits

You get hired to do a certain job at a certain rate and a week after you start they ask you to do a “favor” for them to save THEIR hides and they slice your wage. Further more when you ask when you are being put back in the position you were hired for at the rate you were hired at all they say is “ next month” or “after it slows down a bit”. They will tell you what you want to hear to get you in the door and then they screw you around to get what they want out of you and then throw you to the curb. Save yourself the grief and go to another company. They may pay a bit less but at least you won’t feel like a used condom afterwards. 

You do not want to work here, if you do, make sure you literally get everything in writing and always be prepared to lose your job.
They will make it nearly impossible to get your job done, whether by not giving you the information/material required to complete the job, taking weeks to review things that should take no more than an hour, or having managers that do not understand even simple technology.

The only people that enjoy working here are people who like having nothing to do or people related to the owner.

If you show up, do your work properly and don't complain about what you signed up for, you will go far. I've seen several vessel entries make it all the way up the ladder to supervisors in a fairly short period of time. That being said, just because you can make it that far, doesn't mean everyone is suited to supervise these projects with little experience. There are a lot of things to know so you definitely need to pay attention to what you are doing. The job can be dangerous, but they take steps to ensure the safety of their people.

Fast paced place to work, little bit of a disconnect with communication between the office and the shop as the company is growing quickly. Family run business, established for 20 years now. Prepare to work an insane amount of overtime due to emergency projects and an extremely busy spring/summer season. 
Personally, the people you get to work with day in and day out are the big reason I chose to stay there for so long.They also allowed me to be home every night by transferring me from the field to the shop which was a huge bonus for myself.
