No Covid bonus
Faster lines equals more work for no improvement in wages
Work in frozen and no time off over Christmas
Reliant on the youngs workers helping out agency workers
The more you help someone the more they take advantage
Managers, if you don’t do what they want, very quick to stab you in the back. No realisation of the lower levels.
No unity
No integrity. It may be spouted all over but they don’t know the meaning of the word
Wages less than minimum wage due to not getting paid breaks
Don’t care about Covid only if orders aren’t being met
Interchanging factories with workers
Greatly understaffed but expect the same high production figures with less staff. 



Still currently working through agency for young's. enjoying my job role. i control stock incoming and outgoing to production lines, waste management of outgrades and unusable's, intake of new stock , including rotation of warehouse stock.
My co-workers are really sound. they give you help when your learning and they are pretty laid back, everyone chips in to help each other to make things as easy as it can be.
The hardest part of my job is remembering all the codes of product and places.I most enjoy the laughs we have whilst working.

This business has a long history of slow cultural change, frequent changes in ownership and poor longstanding, toxic management and executive culture. 

Cutting costs is king. 

It is a huge ship in the middle of the sea and moves very very slowly in any direction the wind blows...but slowly, very slowly! 

On a positive I would say the aspiration is there to change. However those who should be leading it are blinkered as to what is required and as to what the actual state of affairs really is. 

The saving grace is that the food is quality and of a high level. The NPD is one of the best I have seen

not many people are willing to do the factory work that makes the world turn but the select few get an easy job which gives them a great salary.

working for a local company that has been providing fish to the nation for over 200 years is really a privilege. Young's Seafood is the one of the leading seafood companies in the north and a great job for all ages from school leavers to near retirees.

managers are firm but fair.

7/10 to work for.

Work in Humberstone Rd start in agency. Agency staff in place looking after you, never have problem with holidays, girls from agency always there for help staff, come in on factory during the day. Managers are helpful treat everyone the same, people on the line nice, makes everything easy how much they can.

A friendly work plan e in environment. Although fast paced the work is steady depending on what roll I would be given. Management are fair and and understanding, and usually well organized depending on the department

I loved my job but wasn't paid for the skills I learnt, I left on principle of doing skilled work without the pay, I had meetings regarding the skills pay but never got it. 

Not nice to work Sofina run you into the ground expect fair to much from you for so little pay, any benefits have been stripped and reduced to a free hot drink would not recommend 

It’s a good place to work the management is spot on and the people that work there are helpful I learned a few things while working for Young’s I would recommend it to so,Rome who is looking for work

Typical day at the factory included; standing at a line for 8 hours putting fish into a box with two half hour breaks.
