Zaks Diner

Working there i felt very taken advantage of. The management was not great, I often didn’t receive my work schedule until the night before the week started (then found i worked the next day). As well they were very immature and not team oriented, very “high school drama” “mean girls” from the ADULT MANAGERS towards staff that they didn’t favour that day — extremely nice and jokey to some, extremely rude to others faces and behind their back (laughing and also name calling).  The rest of the staff and few shift managers were very amazing however many left due to management. 

The job itself regarding responsibilities and hours were quite good. We would experience large rushes which made the time fly by fast and if you work on your skills you will be very capable of finding a good flow and making good tips.

if you struggle with setting boundaries, are shy or don't have thick skin, you may not enjoy yourself much (however i noticed i improved with time) as i noticed myself and others who were, were the ones who were ultimately were picked on 

show up, sign in, change into an apron and prepare to get soaked.
A caring kitchen helps, but with dishes coming back from the restaurant every second; plates full of food people took a picture of and couldn't stomach a bite of. The waiters neglect to throw out the uneaten food or sort anything they bring back and treat you as "less than". Even if you're in a rush there's no need to be rude, the kitchen understands this. The staff in the kitchen have fun personalities and a drive to work. They show up and do their job, never dampening the mood or bringing you down because their day isn't going perfectly. 
Things move fast, they expect you to move faster. there is more heavy lifting than you'd expect.

Please don’t work at this location or any location. The management is horrible, unorganized and belittles you in front of customers. They also tell you that you have a misconception about what it’s like to be a manager or what it’s like to work at a restaurant in general. They overwork you for ridiculous hours and don’t care about your social life (kiss that goodbye when you start working for them). If you want to be talked about by the whole diner, then Zak’s is the place for you. They also try and bribe you to stay if you want to leave because they’re so short staffed. 

I worked overnights and it was absolutely insane lol
We were absolutely over worked, and understaffed. We had to deal with things like overdoses, fights, vomit (among other bodily excretions), heavily intoxicated people, and abuse from customers and other staff members. 
After I quit, it was difficult to get a hold of one of the higher ups to collect my last pay/ vacation pay. 
If you enjoy being under appreciated and like to suffer, Zaks is the place for you.

A normal day at Zaks was a really busy day.  It was my first job so I learned a lot of stuff.  The management was nice until the manger left then the worker who didn't like me became manager then fired me.

Very busy and fast-moving work environment. Management is experienced and flexible. Very positive staff which makes for a positive work environment. Management is very efficient.

required to wash dishes. Nothing more to expect really it isn't a glamourous job but it is a laid back environment. People tend to be friendly and if you dont like talking to people this is a good job.

Loved it, great people, great food, and better service. The hours were perfect, vacation days were given easily. Staff were cooperative, by covering shifts and staying for doubles more often than not.

Great job culture, friendly coworkers and management. Management is flexible and accommodating. Servers can make a lot in tips. Not overstaffed. The fast pace of work prevents boredom.
