On the highway board the typical trip is 32 to 38 hours.99% FTL. One night in the sleeper then home the next. 2 trips one week, three the next makes a pretty good paycheck. So 4 days one week 6 the next when available which is most of the time. Temperature controlled trailers so mostly produce and food hauling. Regular customers. Its almost like having a dedicated run, very repetitive. Local and home every night work also available. Management is very accommodating. They prefer to promote from within.

After your south bound delivery, your north bound reload is usually waiting for you, which means you get home fast and can get south bound again the next day.
 2 south bound trips and 3 days off, then if you want, the following week 3 south bound trips and 2 days off.
So, in a 2 week pay period you can hit the mileage bonus and bring home almost $3,000.
 Lots of mechanics in shop to keep your dedicated tractor rolling too.

How to teach others  the required skills.
Management needs to move in the 21st century. Manager needs to focus on getting new work to replace those that were lost do to poor scheduling.  The hardest part of the job was to deal with unqualified dispatchers and abusive ops manager.  The most enjoyable part was fianlly moving on to a new place. .

Zavcor is a great company. The owner is remarkable. The work is hard at times. The pay is good but long wait times at receivers isn't always paid out and sometimes you sit for hours just waiting for paperwork. Not Zavcor's fault but it's still time consuming. Overall great company.  

the management team is at best ok. they are very easy on days off. but very slow on work. the trucks are garbage. the other employees steal stuff from other trucks. Some of the drivers cannot back up the trailer to save their life.

Good place to get your driving experience.  Long hours, no time off.  Work work work.   No work life balance at all.   Management is not efficient.   

Great place to work. Dispatch is exceptional. Will avoid unnecessary delays; and pay you should you be delayed. Trucks maintenance is at their facility in Stevensville, you will not go out on the road with the slightest of defects. Great benefits.

Management was quite ridged but all n all, it wasn't too bad a place to work. They just needed to keep the mouthy dispatchers & one mouthy mechanic at bay & the place would have been a real good place to work.
